Trench Warriors Get 2028 Rankings Boost

We added hundreds of prospects to our rankings in Ohio last month for the Class of 2028. In our next article and multi-part series, we break down four new additions and will continue to do so throughout the months of February and March. These four early risers have a chance to become high-impact players in the fall and beyond.    Jake Lamirand is a starting wide receiver/tight end for St. Ignatius. He is also a standout on the basketball court. Lamirand is very good at creating separation, displays good hands and is a legitimate downfield threat with the ball in his hands. At 6-foot-6, 205 pounds, he has a tall, long, and lean frame with which to get stronger in a college program. Keep an eye on his development as he could develop into one of the Midwest's top recruits.     [player_tooltip player_id='2128503' first='Matthew' last='Schimpf'] is a starting defensive tackle for Rittman High School. Schimpf is very good against the run. The 6-foot-3, 265-pound defensive tackle is a strong open-field tackler who takes great angles to the ball. Schimpf can shed base blocks and be very disruptive, plugging the middle and wrapping up QBs as a pass rusher. Has plenty of upside and should continue to grow.     [player_tooltip player_id='2128506' first='Israel' last='Jamaica'] is a starting defensive lineman for Alter. The Class of 2028 defensive tackle has great first-step quickness and a nose for the ball. Strong against the run, he is a great block shedder, plays with good bend and leverage, and is a consistent tackler. In 2025, he recorded 37 total tackles and helped lead his team to an 8-4 record. He is a prospect who could see his stock rise considerably during college camps.     [player_tooltip player_id='2112828' first='Peter' last='Whiteside'] is a starting offensive tackle for St. Ignatius. Whiteside is very good in pass protection; he displays good hand placement and strike timing, effectively mirroring edge rushers and flashing great first-step quickness. Whiteside has a good frame and 6-foot-4, 280 pounds, and effectively drives his feet on contact in the run game. He could project to OG at the next level, but I see him developing into a top prospect in the future.
