Happy Monday, and welcome back to our county deep dives series. After looking at the quarterbacks and running backs last week, I'm turning my attention to the wide receivers in Durham and Orange County. Several of these teams use their best players in two-way roles, and while the catch numbers aren't huge, several of these guys are electric with the ball in their hands.

Henderson will show up again on this list once we get to the best defensive backs in the region, but though he's likeliest to play defense at the next level, we wanted him to have an offensive scouting report. It also didn't feel right to leave a guy with nearly 1000 receiving yards on just 33 receptions off the list. His speed out of the slot is a nightmare for defenders, and he attacks his breaks, putting pressure on defensive backs to be perfect. When they're not, he creates space, and Henderson plus space usually means six points.

Listed as a br back in our database, Bowman wasn't a high-volume receiver in 2025, but he did damage when the ball was in his hands. He's an explosive playmaker who is slippery in the open field. His defensive back skills allow him to be a smooth route-runner, even without focusing on the wide receiver position full time.

Griffin is a true athlete, but here we're ranking him among the receivers. A special teams threat, too, Griffin excels after the catch, and though he only had 11 catches on the season, the rising senior should have plenty of opportunities as the potential top option on a team that loses three senior wideouts.

Williamson has excellent speed and ball skills, which fit nicely in Hillside's run-heavy scheme. He was frequently able to get down the field beyond defenders and make big plays on go balls. He has good size, and we think he could carve out a bigger, more diversified role in 2026.

Most of Riverside's passing production runs through the tight end position, but Monds still had a nice junior season. He's built like a running back, and he's tough to bring down in the open field, excelling on screens and special teams.

Goldwater wasn't flashy for Carrboro, but he was the most consistent chain-mover for the Jaguars in 2025. This year, if the Jaguars can push the ball down the field a bit more, Goldwater could have a big season, with the size, speed, and route-running to make noise.

Northern Durham didn't have the region's most consistent passing attack in 2025, but the 6'3" Mainor flashed excellent potential as a guy who can create splash plays out of nothing. The Knights will look to get more on a down-to-down basis out of the passing game, and Mainor is the guy who can lead that charge.
