The Prep Redzone 7v7 Circuit made a stop in Nebraska this weekend for the second annual Great Plains Gauntlet. We had teams all over the region (and Canada!) competing in La Vista, Nebraska and the competition was outstanding from start to finish. In this breakdown, we're taking a look at the 18U division, and specifically, the champion. Sioux Falls Sharks came down from South Dakota and had a really strong showing as a program in every division. But they wrapped up the day in Nebraska by beating Warren Academy in the 18U championship game. We take a look at four of their players that stood out to us during bracket play and throughout the weekend. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone for more content to come out from this tourney!

Alassane Sissoko - 2026 Athlete

Alassane Sissoko is the first of two 2026 prospects that took the field for the Sharks during their championship run. Sissoko was one of the best players in that championship game. We watched it from start to finish and the impact that he had on the game was significant. That was the final touches of what was a really strong tournament for him. He's a really rangy athlete that can close distances in a hurry. We always like to see outgoing seniors participating in these tournaments and getting one more run in with their crew.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602491' first='Braylon' last='Treasure'] - 2028 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back

Prep Redzone recently changed one of our 7v7 rules where players could only play with one team within their organization. Now, 14U and 15U players can play up with the 18U squad if they choose to do so. 2028 two-way player [player_tooltip player_id='1602491' first='Braylon' last='Treasure'] was one of the players that did just that. Treasure stood out as a top performer in the 15U division and then he stood out again in the 18U division and in the championship game. Treasure obviously dominated at his own age division but then he moved up to 18U and showed that he belonged there as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263883' first='Brody' last='Schafer'] - 2027 Quarterback

The first time I watched 2027 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2156077' first='Brody' last='Schafer'] in person, it was in this tournament last year. The weather conditions were worse but Schafer still stood out. Now, it's easy to see why he's arguably the best QB prospect in the Dakotas and committed to South Dakota State. This weekend, Schafer helped guide the Sharks to the 18U championship and he made everything look incredibly easy throughout the tournament. He's definitely improved in the last 12 months and despite really bad wind conditions on Saturday, he still made some incredible throws at a high level.

[player_tooltip player_id='402517' first='Dveyoun' last='Bonwell-Witte'] - 2026 Athlete

[player_tooltip player_id='402517' first='Dveyoun' last='Bonwell-Witte'] is our final standout on this breakdown of the Sharks and he's the second 2026 prospect to stand out to us from this squad. I didn't know much about Bonwell-Witte coming into the tournament. Our South Dakota site has him ranked as the 5th overall prospect in the 2026 class and that checks out. He was one of the better athletes on the field and he was making plays on both sides of the ball, at a consistent pace, every time we watched him. Specifically, in the championship game, Witte was one of the best players on the field and it wasn't even close.
