A lot of prospects across Tennessee have emerged and etched their names as stars in their respective classifications. With the transfer portal calmed down, for now, I'm scouting the top players at each position in each class.

Next in this series, I'll discuss Division II-AA wide receivers. Here's a scouting report of my top five pass catchers in DII-AA.

2029 [player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] – Battle Ground Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] took the Tennessee high school football world by storm in 2025, putting up one of the best freshman seasons in state history. The Battle Ground Academy star caught 78 passes for 1,556 yards and 27 scores, earning Rivals Freshman All-American and MaxPreps Freshman of the Year honors.

He has tremendous size for his age, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 180 pounds in a longer frame that gives him an advantage over DBs. Porter is already the best receiver in Tennessee at such a young age, as he can do virtually everything. The rising sophomore is a great athlete who excels at making tough plays and coming down with contested catches.

Additionally, he has the athleticism and speed to play the finesse game and be productive after the catch. Porter took that next step towards the end of last season, becoming a more physical player. He still has some room to grow, which is insane to say, but it just shows how talented the 2029 prospect is.

2028 [player_tooltip player_id='1030085' first='Max' last='Curry'] – Battle Ground Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='1030085' first='Max' last='Curry'] is arguably the top receiver prospect in Tennessee for his class, and he proved why last season. He played every game for BGA, catching 57 passes for 1,404 yards and 20 touchdowns.

The speedster has been a tremendous deep threat but took that next step as a sophomore, becoming a more well-rounded player. He is a compact player, standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 170 pounds, but has elite physical tools that allow him to dominate competition.

Curry notched a 4.43 laser 40-yard dash, with outstanding burst and elusiveness. He's a slippery player, but the 2028 receiver has polished skills that college coaches love.

The rising junior is a good route runner, has terrific hands, has become more physical as of late, possesses nice vision as a pass catcher and has the ability to always force himself open. He's a consensus top-three receiver in his class, but has the potential to be No. 1

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1629888' first='Cannon' last='Rogers'] – Silverdale Baptist Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='1629888' first='Cannon' last='Rogers'] from Silverdale Baptist is one of the most underrated receivers in Tennessee, regardless of classification. He doesn't get the recognition that he deserves, but the rising senior has been highly productive the last two seasons.

Rogers was a 1,000-yard receiver in 2024, then followed it up with 619 yards in 10 games in 2025. He offers good size for his position, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 180 pounds in a long frame that allows him to be used in a plethora of ways. While he is bigger, Rogers is extremely shifty with that do-it-all skill set.

He excels on deep balls and making tough grabs over the middle, but he can be used on screens due to his elusiveness.

The 2027 prospect has solid footwork, excellent hands, a large catch radius, and the athleticism to be an every-down receiver. He doesn't have any offers right now, but he's a talented player with Division I potential.

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='903033' first='Omarii' last='Sanders'] – Franklin Road Academy

Franklin Road Academy's [player_tooltip player_id='903033' first='Omarii' last='Sanders'] is a blue-chip safety prospect, but also excels at wide receiver. He was the team's No. 1 option in 2025, catching 58 passes for 1,064 yards and 12 touchdowns, while being the Division II-AA League MVP for his play on both sides.

The rising senior has tremendous size, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 205 pounds in a long, but filled-out frame. Sanders uses every bit of it to dominate defensive backs, constantly overpowering them all across the field.

He is an excellent contested-catch receiver, but can do it all for his team. The 2027 prospect is a fluid mover with good route-running ability, nice hands and physicality that allows him to make tough grabs or fight for extra yardage. He's a defensive player at the next level, but Sanders is still one of the best receivers in this classification.

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1556594' first='Lawrence' last='Britt'] – Lausanne Collegiate School

[player_tooltip player_id='1556594' first='Lawrence' last='Britt'] is an exciting player who does everything for Lausanne Collegiate School, but is best fit for the wide receiver position. He caught 44 passes for 696 yards and 12 touchdowns this past season, but also ran it 52 times for 299 yards, giving the Lynx a Swiss-Army Knife.

The 2027 prospect is well-built, standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 185 pounds, with a long, athletic frame that gives him great versatility.

Britt has good speed and can take the top off defenses while working well on short and intermediate routes. He has excellent footwork and good instincts, allowing him to find holes in coverage.

The rising senior is just a terrific all-around player who's being recruited by nearly every school in America for that reason. With star quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1037302' first='Thomas' last='Heffner'] transferring in, it gives Britt a top-tier signal caller to help him grow.
