Region ID: 6 Birmingham Area Sleepers to Track

He is a stout, well-developed 6'1 205. While I project him as a receiver, he takes plenty of reps as a TE. As a blocker, he flashes violence and clearly takes pride in that part of his game, which won't be a lost art if he finds a home as a receiver at the next level. He is quick off the line and has impressive foot speed for a receiver at his weight. He doesn't lack twitch or playmaking ability in space, and he flashes body control down the field as well. Really underrated player. He is now listed at around 5'11 160, and has plenty of space to fill out and add more mass. As I mentioned, this kid is all over the field. He plays with controlled aggression and is a tone-setter. He has the speed and movement skills to play in space and carry routes vertically, but he really flashes coming downhill. He closes space in a hurry and explodes through contact. The basis of intrigue here is his foot speed and short-area quickness. He matches releases really well, and is scrappy enough to stay in stride and compete with receivers throughout the entire route. He is thin, but competitive as a tackler, flashing a hot motor when pursuing the ball. He is listed at around 5'8 180, and carries that on a cut build. So much to like here on tape. He possesses the desired short-area quickness to create his own yards, but his vision and awareness both between the tackles and in space are what stick out to me. He is a true threat at each level of the field, and is productive as a returner as well. There's plenty of juice here athletically. He is incredibly sudden and quick to his top gear, allowing him to cut through cushion off the line, and quickly find space to operate with the ball in his hand. For his frame, he has impressive body control and focus through contested catch settings. He is a loose, lean athlete with plenty of space to get bigger. He is a smooth mover, which he showcases both in his routes and in space. He can tap into different gears as an athlete to work different areas of the field. His instincts and feel stick out to me. He works opposite leverage, has good focus grabs through traffic, and works back to the QB in scramble drills.
