There's a lot to like here when you consider the flashes. He is a tall, lean outside threat at receiver with some giddy up down the field. His strides are hard to match, but he has a good top gear as well. He is capable of tracking and reeling the ball in through traffic. He isn't just big, though, which is what intrigues me here. His ability to threaten the field vertically helps him snap back to the QB and work over the middle of the field. I wouldn't call him a YAC guy, but he has the speed to make things happen in space. He is an unsung hero amongst some of his talented teammates, but this kid has serious juice, like FBS-level speed and explosiveness. He plays both ways, but will project as a receiver. He is an elite return man, which is where he could add quick value at the next level. With the ball in his hands, he has it all. Speed, explosiveness, change of direction. What really does it is his ability to quickly find his top gear and hold it over long distances to lift off from defenders. He is a tall, lean player who plays both ways, but will project as a receiver. A smooth athlete who skates through his routes and taps into different gears to separate. The body control is impressive, both through contact and when having to adjust to the throw. To say I am impressed would be an understatement. He has the twitch and speed that a receiver at his size needs to have, but the body control and focus of a larger receiver. He is an overwhelming guard for DBs with his fast feet and violent nods in routes. When the ball is in the air, he looks comfortable, even through traffic, and he has the ball skills needed to execute. He is a lean, loose athlete who can make plays at each level of the field. With space to run, he can build up speed and lift off from the defense. Griggs has good body control with strong hands, allowing him to pluck the ball away from his body and rip the ball away from DBs. He is a lean 5'10 183 with plenty of space to fill out and get bigger. He is a twitchy, bouncey runner in the short areas who can dance around contact and slip between tacklers, but he isn't avoidant. He isn't a thumper either, but he has good contact balance and can pull himself through congested areas. I think he is one of the more underrated players in the region, all things considered. He is a basketball convert with big corner traits. He is a raw athlete with a hot motor, quickly pursuing to the ball and not being afraid to mix it up physically.
