Kearney Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='2139839' first='Cole' last='Burg'] wasted no time establishing himself as one of the top underclassmen in Class C2. Cole had an impact on both offense and defense, recording 463 receiving yards, 196 rushing yards, six receiving touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, 59 tackles, five TFLs, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles. It's hard to filter Cole into just one position because he is a flat-out gamer. On defense, he finds ways to be destructive, whether that's by being a ball-hawk in coverage or stepping up to make plays against the run. He does an excellent job reading the eyes of the QB and has loose hips and quick closing speed to get a spot where he can defend the pass or make a play on it for an INT. Great instincts. On offense, Cole has proven to have sneaky speed that can catch defenses off guard, allowing him to spring free for the deep ball. His versatility also forces defenses to keep eyes on him at all times because he can run great routes from the outside, slot, and even out of the backfield. Dynamic player!

The Papio South Titans lose their leading receiver ([player_tooltip player_id='487796' first='Elon' last='Washington']) from their state runner-up season, but will have his younger brother [player_tooltip player_id='2139547' first='Cornelius' last='Washington'] as a potential suitor to take over his role. Cornelius saw most of his playing time on the Titans' freshman squad, where he flashed as a slot receiver who can run crisp routes and create separation from defenders. He does a great job of finding soft spots or breaks in coverage and attacking them immediately. Cornelius catches the ball very well with strong hands at the catch point and excellent concentration. Very shifty player who can also make defenders miss in the open field to tack on additional yardage. Watch out for Cornelius when he hits the field; he could catch you by surprise!

Millard North's [player_tooltip player_id='1548409' first='Donovan' last='Scott'] is an interesting freshman who has already started to turn heads on the baseball diamond and is a promising up-and-comer on the gridiron. Donovan is a strong, balanced running back with a sturdy 5'10" and 180-pound frame that helps him stay upright through contact. He possesses solid speed and burst that help him break away from defenders when he finds a crease. Look for Donovan to also possibly carve out a role on defense.

We could be seeing another Scholting take over the Pierce Bluejay offense this season, with freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2139601' first='Brody' last='Scholting'] looking primed to be the next QB1. Brody already got his feet wet during his freshman season, throwing for 488 yards and four passing touchdowns while also rushing for 134 yards and three touchdowns. Watching Brody's frosh tape, it's clear he has the arm talent to develop into a solid prospect, with strong ball placement and decision-making. He is constantly scanning the field looking for the best matchup and is very quick to pull the trigger when he finds his target. Very mobile, allowing him to slip past pass rushers and extend plays outside of the pocket. Last season was a warning to all Class C1 teams that Brody was coming, and this fall might be his true breakout campaign.

With half of the game of evaluating freshman players being projection and potential, Skutt Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='2139697' first='Brody' last='Dickman'] projects well based on his measurables. The SkyHawks lineman is already a solid 6'3" and 250 pounds with room to continue growing into his frame. Along with his projectable size, he is listed as a defensive lineman, offensive lineman, punter, and kicker, showing his versatile skill set. Look forward to seeing more from Brody!
