The 4th annual PRZ Sooner State Shootout took place in Broken Arrow this weekend and we had over 100 teams from this region competing on Saturday and Sunday. In the 14U division, it was all about Oklahoma as CHJ Elite squared off with Sooner 7 for the 14U crown. CHJ Elite came up short but overall, they still had a strong showing this weekend. below, we take a look at five players that stood out in one way or another this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1593359' first='Baxter' last='Davis'] - 2030 Tight End

2030 tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1593359' first='Baxter' last='Davis'] was your prototypical tight end prospect throughout the weekend for CHJ Elite. He ran reliable routes, had a knack for sitting down in areas of the defense with no defenders and showcased strong hands. Davis really impressed us on the offensive side of the ball on Sunday specifically. He also turned around and played defense and stood out there. But it was his offensive ability that got our attention this weekend. He's a 2030 prospect to keep an eye on as he moves into high school this fall. He already passes the eye test as an 8th grader.

Isaiah Ivey - 2029 Wide Receiver

Freshman Isaiah Ivey was a breakout prospect for us this weekend. Ivey was someone we didn't know much about coming into the tournament but he's definitely on our radar now. First off, Ivey immediately passes the eye test from a size standpoint. And he used that size and overall length to his advantage over undersized defensive backs throughout bracket play on Sunday. He showcased an advanced ability with his hands as he tracked the ball and went up at the right time to snag the ball. Between that and his size, he was a match-up nightmare for defenders.

Kaven Fernandez - 2029 Wide Receiver

Freshman wide receiver Kaven Fernandez was another wide receiver that stood out to us from the start on Sunday specifically. Fernandez immediately passed the eye test, with really good size and overall length that became a problem for countless defenders. Fernandez also had solid hands and some strong footwork that created immediate separation from the defender trying to keep him contained. Containing Fernandez didn't happen much on Sunday as he made some big touchdown catches throughout the morning and early afternoon. We're looking forward to seeing more of him moving forward.

Maverick Owens - 2030 Athlete

We think that it's safe to say that Maverick Owens is going to be one of the more anticipated freshmen coming into Oklahoma high school football this fall. Owens backed up the hype this weekend. He was an absolute star on Sunday, making plays on both sides of the ball. The pure athleticism was off the charts and it allowed him to make play after play over players that were in a good position but just couldn't match his abilities. Owens already checks a lot of boxes and the ceiling for him moving forward is incredibly high. It will be fun to watch him on that journey in high school.

MJ Davis - 2030 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back

2030 standout MJ Davis was a key contributor to CHJ Elite making a run to the 14U championship on Sunday. Davis was standing out all weekend on both sides of the ball but it looked like he elevated his overall play on Sunday. Davis was a solid wide receiver for CHJ Elite, showcasing really good body control when going up for jump balls. Then he turned around and showed really strong athleticism on the defensive side of the ball. He tracked the ball very well and did a good job of getting from one point to another in the blink of an eye. Simply put, he always found a way to be in the right place.
