Champion Spotlight: NPA Dream Team 14U

<p>The Music City Mayhem 7v7 Tournament hosted by Prep Redzone was filled with talent at every age level, especially in the 14U classification. That age group featured a large number of the next young prospects that will take over the state of Tennessee (in addition to nearby states) for the next several years, bringing about a high-level atmosphere of competition for the entire event.</p>   <p>The NPA Dream Team 14U walked away from the weekend having earned the championship title, defeating a very talented opposing squad in the title game. Here is a look at the takeaways from the talented roster that the top 14U NPA team has and their performances during the entire 7v7 tournament.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1051781' first='Caleb' last='Johnson']</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1051781' first='Caleb' last='Johnson'] was arguably the most impressive player in the entire 14U classification, looking like a veteran quarterback already while leading his team to a championship.</p>   <p>He showed amazing poise as he looked off multiple defensive players regularly on most possessions to help open passing lanes that allowed for him to get the ball to his intended target. This ability proved to be lethal throughout the weekend as it was tough for defenses to close any passing windows against the NPA Dream Team and he was able to pick apart opponents.</p>   <p>He showed why he is one of the best young prospects in the state of Tennessee and was the best 14U quarterback at the tournament this weekend, consistently showing his dynamic potential in the 7v7 setting.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2031 QB [player_tooltip player_id='2150955' first='Kaden' last='Jackson']</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2150955' first='Kaden' last='Jackson'] was the other quarterback in the rotation for the NPA Dream Team and he showed promising flashes throughout the weekend that showed why he had earned the spot on the top 7v7 team from the training group for the 14U classification.</p>   <p>He has good size for his age and that allows him to generate enough velocity to fit throws into tighter windows and kept the offense running effectively. As he continues to grow and develop, he will be a young prospect to keep an eye on for the long-term.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/KadenHJackson/status/2033242384058704260?s=20 </div></figure>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 RB [player_tooltip player_id='1307126' first='K.J.' last='Baker']</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1307126' first='K.J.' last='Baker'] is an exciting young running back prospect in Tennessee that was used as a versatile chess piece for the NPA Dream Team during the weekend, playing a large part in the success of the top team.</p>   <p>On offense, he was used around the formation and carved up opposing defenses underneath, showing a lot of potential as a receiver in the passing game, showing that he already has a well-rounded skillset that should get him playing time right away at the high school level.</p>   <p>He filled in all over the defense, primarily offering an a disruptive linebacker presence in the middle of the field. He showed off his vertical explosiveness on defense, constantly breaking up throws over the middle of the field and showing his playmaking ability.</p>   <p>Baker is going to be an exciting player over the next four seasons at Brentwood Academy.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 RB [player_tooltip player_id='1594744' first='Alyjah' last='Russell']</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1594744' first='Alyjah' last='Russell'] is an exciting running back prospect out of Murfreesboro and spent the weekend playing on the perimeter as a top receiving target for the NPA Dream Team squad, consistently providing [player_tooltip player_id='1051781' first='Caleb' last='Johnson'] with a reliable target over the middle of the field.</p>   <p>He offers a big, strong frame at 5-foot-11 and he used it effectively to keep defensive backs away from the catch point. He is a powerful runner out of the backfield, but showed that he can offer a well-rounded skillset including plus receiving abilities.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2029 DB [player_tooltip player_id='1741267' first='Ayden' last='Wickware']</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1741267' first='Ayden' last='Wickware'] played both ways for the NPA Dream Team, but his best work was playing in the secondary as a defensive back.</p>   <p>He offers good length in the secondary, standing around six feet tall with long arms that allows for him to be physical at the line of scrimmage and disrupt throws downfield, including hauling in an impressive interception late in the playoff bracket.</p>   <p>The young Bowling Green talent has the frame and length to take away throwing windows. That showed up when he broke down to make a play on the ball in the air when thrown in his vicinity, projecting a future with productive playmaking ability.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/AydenWickware/status/2033269139352006927?s=20 </div></figure>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2030 ATH Kyreese Leavy</h2>   <p>Kyreese Leavy is a well-built athlete that is a versatile chess piece on both sides of the ball, but shined the most on defense in the middle of the field.</p>   <p>Listed around six-feet tall and 185 pounds, he has a big, strong frame that is impossible to work through while having a good level of athleticism that allows for him to stay in the hip pocket of opposing receivers enough to maintain positioning to make a play on the ball.</p>   <p>He moves well and that allowed him to affect the game on offense as a receiver plenty throughout the weekend. That showed up on defense as well, allowing for him to effectively patrol the middle of the field and provide a steady presence on the back end.</p>
