We continue our deep dive through Madison and its immediate surrounding cities to find the region's next wave of college level talent to keep your eyes on. Up next is the offensive linemen, and from the looks of it this might be the deepest position group of the entire region. We have so many kids to talk about in today's article with representation from the Class of 2027-2029. Remember, the coverage area for this series spans from Waunakee to Mt. Horeb, across to Stoughton, up to Sun Prairie, and back to Waunakee. Just that area alone is loaded, so let's turn on the tape and see what these kids have to offer the next level.

One of four current Wisconsin Badgers commits from the home state leads us off in this loaded position group. Ethan is such a talented athlete, yet is only just scratching the surface of what he could develop into at the next level. The long, lean 6'7" 250 lbs 2027 OT brings outstanding athleticism to the blindside. Athleticism pairs with his length to make him a very capable and effective pass protector. It also allows him to always win the body positioning battle in the run game. Ethan further establishes himself as a legitimate Power 4 recruit with how flexible he is and how easily he is able to play with a very low pad level for his size. The tools and gifts have me so excited to see what he does at the next level in Madison.

The best uncommitted OL talent in the immediate Madison area is Mount Horeb's [player_tooltip player_id='1620399' first='Evan' last='Leibfried']. This is another prospect who has so much talent, but even more potential. At 6'7" 250 lbs Evan has so much room to continue to pack on the weight at the next level. Weight that will come with even more power. That is exciting because the film is already filled with examples of his current strength level that can overwhelm DL, get them off balance and rag doll them around the trenches before tossing them to the ground. In the pass game you see his anchor be able to stand up DL and then turn the tables and drive them back and into pancakes. I believe Evan has D1 talent and tools.

Our top ranked interior OL from the immediate Madison area is 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1620326' first='Henry' last='Clark'] of Edgewood. The 6'3" 260 lbs left guard is very talented when it comes to being mobile. He can effectively and efficiently pull across the formation to kick out edges or lead up through to a level two defender. Henry also is able to double team up to level two and effectively come off the DL to pick up the LB. Henry also has the ability to show off that range while always being loaded up to release his full power into defenders as soon as he makes contact. The 2027's combo of range and power perfectly fits on the interior of the OL.

At 6'1" 255 lbs, Brayden has the build to play on the interior at the next level. But this past season he was holding down the LT position for Middleton. It was a job he was able to deliver at too. He impressed me with how agile he was while mirroring edge rushers. His hands are clearly very strong because as soon as he locked onto his man the opponent could never disengage. The big man also has the feet to be able to stay square on the man so that he doesn't get called for holding. We also get flashes of what he could offer at OG with the lateral range he has and how he can reach the man a gap or two over. Brayden brings plenty of tools that can shine on the interior at the next level.

Ty is another Madison area guard to know. I project him fitting into the D3 level and I expect to see him earn several offers from that level this summer. Watching the junior highlights there is plenty to be impressed by. First off, Ty has outstanding range. He may be a bit undersized, but he makes up for it with explosive range to pull and lead plays. Ty has the speed that doesn't slow down the play at all. He also does a great job of turning that speed into power when he makes that initial punch. Over and over you see him pancaking kids with that initial contact. Don't sleep on this kid.

The big fella out of Madison West is up next, checking in at an impressive 6' 305 lbs. The 2027 OG is at his best in the run game where he can use his power and sheer size to beat up DL. When Jarrell can get hands on and pound those feet through his man, driving them off the line or out of the gap. Truitt also flashes some quick feet in short areas so that he can win the leverage position. Jarrell is new to my radar, so make sure to check him out if he is new to yours, coaches.

The 6'2" 260 lbs athlete holds down the center position for Middleton. Braden does really well providing a strong anchor and point of the pocket for his QB to safely step up into. That short area agility and mobility are where he is best in terms of athleticism. Strength is his top trait both as a run blocker and pass protector. The 2027 OC is another athlete I can see being a target of the D3 level.

This is an intriguing 2027 OL. Westyn has the length for the next level, but he will need time to fill out his frame. He currently sits at 6'4" 230 lbs, yet that hasn't effective his impact in the run game. Run blocking is actually a strength that shows up on tape. He has learned to use his hands and leverage to his advantage, moving much larger men consistently. It is clear that Westyn has a strong lower body. We also see him create a big push in double teams and be able to peel off to pick up blitzing LBs in those double teams. Keep an eye on the 2027 IOL.

Another IOL out of Waunakee to keep an eye on is the team's center, Charles Heideman. It is clear this unit is well coaches based off how consistent the technique is across the board for this group led by Charles. He is fluid in his lateral mobility to provide support to his guards in pass pro. The '27 also flashes that short area explosive burst in the run game to deliver a strong initial punch.
Looking to the Class of 2028, Stoughton's [player_tooltip player_id='2112353' first='DJ' last='Jones'] is the cream of the crop for Madison area OL. He has the elite traits that have him on the path towards being a D1 recruit. First off, the OT is 6'5" 260 lbs and has extremely long arms. So he easily looks the part of a top tier OT talent. Then you turn on the tape and you see the naturally dominant strength. Strength that is boosted by his flexiblity/leverage combination. It is not easy for a kid DJ's size to be able to play with low pad level while still being mobile and agile and powerful. DJ can do that and do it very effectively. I can't wait to watch him this fall and show that he is working his way towards competing for that top OL ranking.

I'm excited to follow Teddy's development over these next two years. He has the size at 6'2" 285 lbs and has solid tape at right tackle for Madison Memorial. Things were starting to come together for the sophomore on varsity. He has the anchor to stuff bull rushes in pass pro. The '28 OT is nimble and quick while mirroring a pass rusher or closing on a DL in the trenches while run blocking. The big man is able to fight his way to the leverage or body positioning win too. Things should continue to come together more and more for Teddy over the coming years. Make sure you have this kid on your radar.

Tim holds down the right tackle position for the pass heavy Middleton offensive attack. The 6'4" 255 lbs sophomore showed the tools to be able to handle playing on that island. He uses his length and hands well. Has the feet to be able to get depth, change direction, and maintain a wide base so that he can absorb bull rushers and set that anchor quickly.
Every year it seems like Sun Prairie East has at least one OL well worth having on your radars. This next season that athlete will be 2028 Andrew Durst. The left tackle checks in at an intriguing 6'5" 245 lbs. The big man has the length needed to win on the blindside with plenty of time to continue to fill out that frame. Andrew sets himself apart by being an underclassman with size who is still able to move comfortably and naturally. He can easily play with a low pad level thanks to flexibility in his knees and ankles. Plus is so consistent getting hands involved and accurately striking them. Andrew's nimble feet are key to his success at LT as well. He has so many tools to work with, giving him a high ceiling.

There is plenty to be excited about. A strong and well filled out frame already. Strong hands that rag doll kids his age at the C/JV level. Myles' overall strength jumps off the tape. Whether it be a stout pass set or bulldozing DEs off the line in the run game. The '29 OL is also in a great environment where he will not only be coached up, but also get to work behind and watch some very talented upperclassmen on the Verona OL. Get Myles on your radars early on.
