2028 South Dakota New Names Added to our Radar

As we get closer and closer to the release of our 2028 South Dakota rankings, we are on the hunt for new names across the Mount Rushmore State. We've had a bunch of series like this for the last couple of classes we have released, but this group right here is an intriguing one with all the size that there is in this group and skillsets that could start or contiue to blossom over the coming years.    Jaycob I believe is the third Westley brother I have scouted out of Elkton-Lake Benton over the last four years or so and is another one that battles in the defensive trenches for the Elks. He boots powerful hands and pad-level for his age and size and much like his older brother in the trenches, he plays with the grit you want from your nose tackle and center, as he shows the pad-level and high drive into the second level. The 6'0 225 pounder projects as a nose tackle in my eyes as his best fit at the next-level.   <a href="https://x.com/JaycobWestley" id="https://x.com/JaycobWestley">TWITTER</a>     A sizable new find in the offensive trenches that got onto our radar this afternoon, is 6'6 285 pounder [player_tooltip player_id='2154577' first='Karson' last='Rossow'] out of Florence-Henry. The tape you will find is raw, but make no mistake that not only does that elite size show up quickly, you see Karson consistently getting into the second level and with his barrelling hands and pad-level I would love it even more if he put together a highlight tape as I know college coaches in the regrion would be intrigued. Even when he's not using his 100% strength, the ease he has at the point of attack is pretty absurd. As a basketball player too for the Falcons, you can bet as a probable 5 on thier roster that he's only going to get better with his footwork over the coming years. Not even on Twitter yet..     One of our latest 2028 offensive linemen finds this Friday afternoon comes from Wagner center [player_tooltip player_id='2154603' first='Bodie' last='Chafin']. The 6'2 250 pounder has a very impressive first step from agility perspective. He's also agile with his hand-technique as he shows on clip #2 from his sophomore season that he's not a offensive linemen you want to get off-blanced against or poor hand placement on as Bodie is very physical at the point of attack. He's also got great upside to get even better in pass-protection yet his physicality will drive that upside quicker with his development. Surely another 2028 OL I am pumped about as a new addition.     Carson is another new 2028 out of WWSSC which my gut tells me they will have a solid group in that class over the coming years. The 6'2 170 pounder, shows off a textbook open field tackler that is persistently valuable as a run-stopper in the backfield. Carson is also proficent getting off blocks and seems to persistently be on the right pursuit angle when he meets the ball carrier as Carson is usually first contact. He's got more agile twitch than he might get credit for on tape in my eyes.     One of my favorite new names in this 2028 class at the wide receiver position is one that we have featured on site during the state championsihps, but now that his sophomore tape is live, I feel the floodgates could open quick on [player_tooltip player_id='2138939' first='David' last='Walter'] of Freeman. The 6'5 200 pounder (!), is a dominate deep threat that I am pretty surprised is just a sophomore. He's a springy route runnner for his size and has great deep ball hands that adjusts well on the fly to the throwing angle. He's also a WR that in my mind if you are his WR, you know he's "down there somewhere" and based on how David handles slightly higher traffic receptions downfield. He should be a top-tier wide receiver in this class once the 2028 South Dakota rankings come out soon.
