As we get deeper into the month of March, the 2026 high school football offseason is in full swing. With that being said, we have begun a new round of rankings updates in the state of Kentucky. The class of 2027 is our latest update to be released with an updated Top 225. Now that those have been released, I have been taking the past couple weeks to break them down by position. After already covering the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, here are our top ATH in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky who make an impact at multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2149930' first='Garyon' last='Hobbs'] has continued to establish himself as one of the best players in the state over the past few years. On defense, he is a dynamic playmaker at strong safety. He has shown the ability to read the quarterback and flow through the secondary to put himself in a great position to make a play on the football. When the ball is thrown in his direction, he has shown tremendous ball skills, leading his team with five interceptions in 13 games as a junior, returning two of them for touchdowns. Garyon also finished this past season with 71 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and three sacks. He also returned one punt and a kickoff for touchdowns as a junior, and made a huge impact on offense, catching 35 passes for 583 yards and seven touchdowns while also running the ball 25 times for 218 yards and three touchdowns. Hobbs is committed to Indiana where I can see him having a very successful collegiate career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1160198' first='Chance' last='McPike'] is an electric playmaker who plays multiple roles in the Paducah Tilghman offense. He does a lot of his damage out of the slot where he caught 33 passes for 540 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games as a junior. McPike uses his explosive speed to his advantage to create separation from opposing defensive backs and pick up yards after the catch. He is also a home run threat out of the backfield, carrying the ball four times for 153 yards and two touchdowns this past season. McPike also returned a kickoff for a touchdown as a junior. Chance currently holds multiple Power 4 offers and I expect that list to continue to grow this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='1665343' first='Larron' last='Westmoreland'] is another highly-regarded ATH in the 27 class. On defense, he lines up at safety where he has proven to be very reliable in coverage. Westmoreland does a great job of reading both the quarterback and route combinations then reacting with perfect timing to go make a play on the ball once it is in the air. Larron finished his junior year with a team-leading three interceptions in 10 games, returning one of them for a touchdown. He also proved to be very effective against the run, recording 67 tackles and three tackles for loss as a junior. Westmoreland also played a key role in the Jeffersontown offense this past season, catching 33 passes for 459 yards and six touchdowns while also running the ball 39 times for 287 yards and nine touchdowns, and throwing two touchdown passes. Larron is committed to Kentucky where I can see him developing into a key member of their secondary once he gets there.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200641' first='Timmy' last='Emongo'] is one of the most exciting offensive players to watch in the entire state. He is a very shifty ball carrier, showing the ability to make quick cuts in the open field to make defenders miss with ease. Emongo also has the burst of speed to run away from the defense on long runs. He finished his junior season with 110 carries for 1,052 yards and 18 touchdowns in 13 games. Timmy is also a dangerous deep threat in the passing game, leading Scott County with 21 catches for 660 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. He also made an impact on defense this past season, finishing the year with 20 tackles, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown). Emongo currently holds several Power 4/Division I offers and I expect more to come his way heading into his senior year.

To wrap up our top five ATH in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1375197' first='JuJu' last='Harmon Jr']. Harmon is one of the more impressive safeties in his class. He is very reliable in coverage, showing the ability to read routes then use his instincts to break on the ball with perfect timing to make a play when it is thrown his way. Harmon finished his junior year with three interceptions in 13 games, returning one of them for a touchdown. He has also shown the ability to fill the lane to provide support against the run, recording 67 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss this past season. JuJu also made an impact at receiver as a junior, catching seven passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Harmon currently holds multiple Power 4/Division I offers and I wouldn't be surprised to see more come his way soon.
