2027 Rankings: Meet the Top Five Athletes

The new 2027 rankings are officially released. And with over 100 new players, and multiple players positions changing, and new additions to the top five at each position, we will take a look at the new top five at each position, and what makes them worthy of a top ranking in the state of New York.   The Summer Reigonal Exposure Showcases are back, and New York has one on May 23rd. Other states will also host events. Standing at 6'3" 170-Pounds, White displays a solid frame for an ATH.   He can play across the field, and mainly is used at skill positions for the U-Prep squad. White, displays elite speed, paired with good footwork. He has a high IQ, and is hard to tackle. I like his vision, and his ability to reach his top speed with a quick burst in on full display on film.     Staying in Western New York. We head to St. Francis, for ATH [player_tooltip player_id='707562' first='Domonic' last='Cook Jr.'] The 5'10 195-Pound Prospect, displays an elite and versatile size for a prospect. Cook is mainly used as a RB/WR, for the Red Raiders, but given his frame he can play across the field.   Cook Jr, showcases elite footwork, and displays a good vision. As a RB, he can slow plays down at the LOS, and waits for gaps across the line to form. He showcases a quick burst, and can reach his top speed quickly, which he utilizes to break tackles, and run past defenders.     Sticking with St. Francis, we talk a look at one of the most versatile players in the state, in [player_tooltip player_id='501394' first='Trent' last='Buttles']. Buttles is an elite playmaker, who can play at QB, and in the Secondary. Standing at 6'0" 190-Pounds, he is built for both positions, and has seen a major increase in his recruitment.   Buttles is outstanding at both positions. As a QB, he displays a good IQ, paired with good vision. He can read a defense well, and showcases a good ball, paired with good accuracy, and arm strength. On the defensive side of the ball, he showcases, an elite IQ, and is a ball hawk, who can track defenders well, and is a sticky playmaker who excels with his IQ.     Sticking in Western New York, but leaving St. Francis, and heading to Section Five for Webster Schroeder, we take a look at [player_tooltip player_id='1539042' first='Kalin' last='Watkins']. The Webster Schroeder prospect stands at 6'3" 215-Pounds, and mainly projects as a LB.   Watkins is a quick, high IQ prospect, who moves well given his size. He is an excellent tackler, and shows elite strength. He can plug run lanes with ease, and showcases an elite ability to play in both Zone/Man Schemes.     Rounding out the top five, we head to the Syracuse region, and visit Whitesboro High School. [player_tooltip player_id='1513305' first='Connor' last='McDonald'] rounds out the top five, and is one of few prospects already committed, as he announced his pledge to Colgate University.   Standing at 6'0" 185-Pounds, he displays a versatile build, which allows him to play on both sides of the field at skill positions. Mainly he is used on the offensive side, where a majority of snaps come at the RB Position. He is a quick athlete, who displays outstanding footwork, and the ability to his top speed quickly. McDonald, is an outstanding prospect.
