X3 Impact 7v7 Practice: Top 14U Standouts

There was a multitude of talented rising stars at Battle Ground Academy this past Sunday as X3 Impact held practice for their 12U, 14U, 15U, and 18U squads. After catching all of the action yesterday afternoon, it's time to breakdown some of the top prospects from each group that shined during their time on the field. To continue my coverage, here's my list of the top performers from the 14U division.    Establishing himself on the defensive side of the ball was [player_tooltip player_id='1590892' first='Elijah' last='Lansden'], a linebacker that shined at defensive back during 14U practice. On top of excellent size and speed, Lansden impressed me with his ability to lock down receivers and use his arms to swat the ball out of the air. Lansden is definitely a playmaker on defense that could prove to be very efficient during tournament action.     I was also impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='1816125' first='Ladanian' last='Harris'], a wide receiver for X3 Impact that made his presence known during the 14U vs. 15U scrimmage. In addition to outstanding speed off the snap, I liked how Harris could juke out defenders in the backfield to get wide open for the touchdown pass. I fully expect Harris to be a playmaker during tournament season as his size and wingspan allow for him to easily reach the ball in the air.     Making his presence known at the helm of the offense was Skylar Ginn, a quarterback for X3 Impact that impressed with his arm strength and strong passing ability. Ginn also made a great impression during scrimmage action as he made a number of impressive touchdown passes. I also liked how Ginn could quickly scan the backfield and find an open man. Ginn is certainly a rising signal caller to know about in the near future.     Another talented player that caught my eye was Isaiah Poindexter, a defensive back for X3 Impact that proved he can shut down the offense with his speed and ability to swat the ball to the ground. I also really liked how Poindexter could read the offense like a book, using his quickness to reach the ball first and shut down passing lanes. Poindexter's explosiveness will certainly come in handy during the 7v7 season.     Also worth mentioning is Cameron Townsend, a talented wide receiver/defensive back for X3 Impact that established himself during the 14U vs. 15U scrimmage. I really liked Townsend's aggression and physicality in the backfield as he made it very difficult for receivers to reach the ball. Townsend also did a really great job of locking down his opponent with his wingspan.
