Updated: Oregon 2029 Rankings (21-40)

With the athletes still being so young, it's almost impossible to put a numerical ranking next to their name at this point. Here we will breakdown the top freshman in the state of Oregon with groups representing #1-20 and #21-40.          On the actual rankings board, you will see a number next to each athlete's name, but that is very general in nature and will likely adjust a great deal in the coming months. This list was put together in collaboration with Andrew Nemec. Carter could climb this list quickly, with his brother [player_tooltip player_id='1345129' first='Jackson' last='Liepold'] being one of the top centers in the Northwest.    [player_tooltip player_id='2079675' first='Sam' last='Nute'] 6-0 250 DL/OL Lake Oswego   UPDATED: Once again, it's just a size thing if we are talking projection. From a pure talent standpoint, few are better on the line.    Nute has been a standout on the O line but projects more on D due to his current stature. If he continues to grow, he will be one of the top ranked lineman in Oregon for his class.    [player_tooltip player_id='1855541' first='Malakai' last='Belz'] 6-0 190 OLB/TE Lakeridge   UPDATED: We've talked about Belz recently after an MVP season at the freshman level for the Pacers. He can play on either side of the ball, but likely projects on D making 50+ tackles with 12 sacks and 24 TFL's this past year. If he can add some size and strength in the next few months, he could be a varsity asset as a sophomore.    [player_tooltip player_id='2105985' first='James' last='Curbow'] 6-0 210 DL/OL Glencoe   UPDATED: It's rare for any freshman athlete to earn all-league honors with Curbow racking up all-conference accolades on both sides of the football. He will likely project more on D due to size.    [player_tooltip player_id='2131621' first='Blake' last='Silvers'] 6-4 180 OLB/TE West Albany   UPDATED: The talented multi-sport athlete (baseball) has done well as part of Team Alpha and brings legit length and versatility to the table. It wouldn't be surprising to see him have an all-conference sophomore season.    Dayn Ree 6-0 230 DL/OL West Linn   UPDATED: From a projection standpoint, it will all come down to size and how much Ree grows. He is one of most talented lineman in the state but it's still a wait and see. Expect him to be a multiyear all TRL selection.    [player_tooltip player_id='1720607' first='Colton' last='Potter'] 6-0 185 WR Tualatin    UPDATED: I really like Potter to be one of the best in the TRL before he's done. He's added size and could get in the mix as early as next year for a loaded T Wolves program.    Potter comes from a talented family and projects as one of the better receivers in the TRL. He could be a double-digit TD guy each season as a junior and senior.    [player_tooltip player_id='2131662' first='Ashton' last='Wells'] 6-8 265 T North Medford   UPDATED: This is one where there isn't necessarily a lot to say when you look at Wells' dimensions. That being said, it's all a projection thing right now with still a lot to prove.    [player_tooltip player_id='2079677' first='Jett' last='Wong'] 5-6 155 CB/WR Sheldon   UPDATED: The Irish are looking to make a statement after a 2-7 season and Wong will be a key factor if that is going to happen.    Really like this kid. He's undersized but super talented and will be one of the best in the conference on both sides of the ball. He got in the mix as a freshman at DB making a handful of varsity tackles.    [player_tooltip player_id='2120098' first='Trey' last='Lawrence'] 5-9 175 RB Bend   UPDATED: The talented young RB was an honorable mention all IMC selection as a freshman. He will be a featured athlete for the Lava Bears the next three years.    [player_tooltip player_id='2079790' first='Amir' last='Burton'] 5-11 160 ATH  Nelson   UPDATED: Burton has outstanding film and has been killing it on the 7v7 circuit for Big12Performance. Nelson HS has weapons everywhere.    [player_tooltip player_id='2131782' first='Cooper' last='Chan'] 6-0 210 LB Jesuit   UPDATED: Watch the film as Chan is a constant disrupter coming off the edge. I could see him being influential as a sophomore in the Metro League.    [player_tooltip player_id='1705965' first='Dylan' last='Baltz'] 5-11 160 CB/ATH West Linn   UPDATED: Dylan has the potential of being an FCS type athlete with continued growth. His brother Drew Baltz with a super talented kid with size at 6-4.    [player_tooltip player_id='1558030' first='AJ' last='Walker'] 5-6 140 Slot Westview   UPDATED: He's small but super talented and will break your ankles in space. Walker is another athlete who has excelled on the 7v7 circuit. Look for him to continue and make noise this offseason.    [player_tooltip player_id='2131482' first='Owen' last='Healy'] 5-10 190 RB/LB Jesuit   UPDATED: Healy was dominant for the Crusaders as a freshman on both sides of the football. From a projection standpoint, a lot will depend on continued growth.    [player_tooltip player_id='2131618' first='Dylan' last='Jones'] 5-10 170 RB Mounbtain View   UPDATED: The Cougars continue to be one of the best 5A programs in the state every year, producing elite RBs. Jones is another one rushing for 25 TDs at the freshman level last season.    [player_tooltip player_id='2131667' first='Rocco' last='Folino'] 5-10 175 ATH Thurston   UPDATED: MVP has another good one in Folino. He could play early for the Colts and thrive with 1st team all-league 5A QB [player_tooltip player_id='1257695' first='Emmit' last='Distefano'] returning.    [player_tooltip player_id='2129860' first='Laiden' last='Johnson'] 6-0 170 DB Eagle Point    UPDATED: Johnson earned 2nd team all-conference honors as a freshman, making 46 tackles with 2 TFL's. He was also a contributor on offense. There are very few 9th graders doing what he did at the varsity level.    [player_tooltip player_id='1705970' first='Quinn' last='Baker'] 5-9 150 QB West Linn   UPDATED: The undersized QB did his thing this past season, leading a dominant West Linn freshman group. He hit on approximately 70% of his passes with stature being the obvious question mark.    [player_tooltip player_id='2131479' first='Damoni' last='King'] 5-9 150 Slot Central Catholic    UPDATED: King has done well on the 7v7 circuit for Team Lillard, also scoring 5 TD's for the Rams freshman team this past season. He could be a dude if he continues to grow.
