With the athletes still being so young, it's almost impossible to put a numerical ranking next to their name at this point. Here we will breakdown the top freshman in the state of Oregon with groups representing #1-20 and #21-40.

On the actual rankings board, you will see a number next to each athlete's name, but that is very general in nature and will likely adjust a great deal in the coming months. This list was put together in collaboration with Andrew Nemec. Have a look as we highlight the state's top 29's.

COMPLETE RANKINGS: https://prepredzone.com/oregon/rankings/oregon-high-school-football-2029-class-player-rankings/

#1-20

[player_tooltip player_id='1705963' first='Ronan' last='Crawford'] 6-6 255 OL West Linn

UPDATED: Still somewhat raw but his upside is ridiculous. If he puts it all together, he could be one of the best in the TRL up front next season.

Expect Crawford to be a major D1 recruit with his ceiling being as high as anyone. The Lions have produced some of the best lineman ever to come out of the state and he could be another one.

[player_tooltip player_id='2079649' first='Cade' last='Ellis'] 6-7 285 OL Silverton

UPDATED: There are still a lot of unknowns here, but all indicators have Ellis projecting to a high level of collegiate ball with his size.

His Hudl film has him listed as Cade "Shrek" Ellis which seems appropriate. Silverton continues to be one of the most impressive and consistent programs in the state, winning another 5A title this past season. He projects as a major prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='2079648' first='Easton' last='Grubb'] 5-11 185 RB Tualatin

UPDATED: Grubb is just a different type of athlete. He is a likely Oregon 6A POY before he's done.

This kid was a machine putting up some of the most ridiculous numbers anywhere, even if it was freshman ball. Grubb's 41 TD's and 3100 all purpose yards were likely a record at that level. Him, [player_tooltip player_id='1609595' first='Iden' last='Rule'], and [player_tooltip player_id='937241' first='Cole' last='Hachmeister'] give the T-Wolves a trio of backs unlike any other in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2054820' first='TyVelle' last='Hill'] 5-11 165 CB Roosevelt

UDPATED: As referenced, it's rare to garner 1st team all-conference accolades as a freshman which Hill did. If he can get out on the camp circuit this offseason, he could blow up.

One of the top 29's in Oregon. Hill earned 1st team all PIL honors as a freshman. Something incredibly tough to do at such a young age. Look for the multi-sport standout to excel and be a top recruit with continued growth.

[player_tooltip player_id='2129840' first='Laikyn' last='Donnelly'] 6-5 225 TE/DE West Salem

UPDATED: Donnelly played varsity basketball as a freshman and has the potential of being a major D1 recruit on the football field. Head coach Shawn Stanley has had numerous elite prospects come through his program, and he will be another one.

[player_tooltip player_id='1558034' first='Zane' last='Zellick'] 6-0 170 RB/ATH West Linn

UPDATED: Zellick "was a man amongst boys" running the ball this past season at the lower level. He could be a legit contributor as a sophomore for a loaded Lions group who will be a 6A title favorite.

One of the most talked about athletes in the 2026 class. Zellick has D1 genes and comes with a legit combination of size and speed. Expect him to score a bunch of TDs for the Lions over the course of his career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1509111' first='Jagger' last='Salazar'] 6-2 175 WR Lakeridge

UPDATED: Salazar played some varsity ball as a freshman and has many of the intangibles necessary to project as a P4 athlete. He scored 10 TDs in 4 games against his peers and is one to watch on the camp circuit when he gets back from injury.

Just a really good overall athlete with size and speed. Salazar is another individual who comes from a special family with D1 genes. He is the grandson of Boston Marathon winner Alberto Salazar. Look for him to be a factor next season at Lakeridge.

[player_tooltip player_id='2127746' first='Jonny' last='Jenkins'] 5-9 180 RB Willamette

UPDATED: If we are talking on who had the best season of any freshman state wide, its probably Jenkins. From a recruitment standpoint it's just a size thing.

Jenkins was one of the most impressive freshman in the entire NW, rushing 76 times for 477 yards (6.3 ypc) and 7 TDs for a Wolverines team that went undefeated in conference and 10-1 overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1732245' first='Zaire' last='McCrae'] 6-2 180 LB/ATH Willamette

UPDATED: MVP Elite is one of the NW's top programs and McCrae probably has the highest ceiling of any athlete in that 29' class. He played some varsity ball this past season and projects to a high level with continued progression.

[player_tooltip player_id='2079650' first='Cayde' last='Campbell'] 6-2 175 QB Tualatin

UPDATED: Campbell was hurt this past season, but he has grown and comes from a super talented family with size. Expect him to be a D1 guy and one of the best in the NW.

The T-Wolves have had some good QB's come through highlighted by recent BYU commit Nolan Keeney. Campbell could be as good as any of them, with Tualatin featuring an elite up and coming group that he will lead.

[player_tooltip player_id='2090232' first='Amir' last='Harris'] 5-11 180 Safety Willamette

UPDATED: Harris had 34 tackles and a pick at the varsity level as a freshman for a top 6A Willamette program. His early success has continued on the camp circuit and he will be a potential early offer guy.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131617' first='Finn' last='Mellor'] 6-4 250 OL/DL Mountain View

UPDATED: Mellor is just settling into his frame and is also a talented heavyweight wrestler. Look for him to be one of the most recruited lineman in the NW for his class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1557993' first='Justin' last='Powell'] 5-10 165 DB/ATH Nelson

UPDATED: One of the fastest rising prospects in the region. The Team Lillard standout has already upped his stock a considerable amount this early offseason, playing up with the older group and still locking down his side of the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='2079652' first='Kyler' last='Levrets'] 6-2 170 QB Lake Oswego

UPDATED: A lot of eyes and expectations will be on Levrets especially with [player_tooltip player_id='402409' first='Hudson' last='Kurland'] graduating. Playing for one of the state's all-time great coaches Steve Coury has worked out well for many.

Lake O continues to produce D1 athletes with Levrets having that type of potential. He comes from a talented family with his dad being a division 1 basketball coach and mom a D1 athlete as well. He is one to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131663' first='Ben' last='Sedillo'] 6-4 300 DT Nelson

UPDATED: Sedillo was called a "Mountain of an Athlete" which seems appropriate. He was wildly successful coming up through youth ball and could play early for one of the fastest rising programs in the NW.

[player_tooltip player_id='1705976' first='Anthony' last='Buttson'] 6-0 160 WR West Linn

UPDATED: West Linn's breakout player of the year at the lower level. He was completely dominant at times and if he gets his brother's size (6-5 200) the sky's the limit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1564852' first='Landon' last='Benner'] 5-10 165 QB Nelson

UPDATED: People rave about this kids athleticism. In summary, he's an undersized QB but one of the best players in the state.

Benner leads an elite freshman group at Nelson as an undersized QB. The Hawks established themselves as one of the top programs in the state this past season and that trend should continue.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131659' first='Conor' last='Schmitz'] 6-2 245 Central Catholic

UPDATED: Schmitz started 13 games at the Varsity level as a freshman for one of Oregon's all-time best programs. Look for him to be a 1st or 2nd team all Mt Hood lineman next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1563740' first='Mason' last='Girt'] 5-8 160 RB Lakeridge

UPDATED: Girt averaged 200+ yards and 3 to 4 TDs per game at the lower level, absolutely dominating the competition in the toughest conference in the state. Regardless of size he's one of Oregon's best for his class.

Girt has done well from a young age and will be a guy for the Pacers next year as they graduate 35 seniors. He's undersized but tough and could be an all TRL standout as a sophomore similar to [player_tooltip player_id='937113' first='Shane' last='Peters'] of West Linn.

[player_tooltip player_id='1566765' first='Cash' last='Arbow'] 6-0 180 OLB/RB Mountainside

UPDATED: Arbow could be a 1st or 2nd team all-Metro athlete next season, teaming with [player_tooltip player_id='1125493' first='Reece' last='Ballew'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1076647' first='Kade' last='Laraway'] to give Mountainside one of the best trios in the region.

Arbow was the only freshman playing varsity ball for a solid Mountainside team, working in at RB while projecting as more of an OLB. He is an outstanding baseball player and should be one of the state's top two-sport athletes.
