Spring Watchlist- Top Prospects on Our Radar

Welcome back to our Tuesday Takeover series!   As we head further into the offseason, we've found a bunch of new prospects to cover from all around the state.   Today, we are zeroing in on some of the 2027s we've missed, and trust me, you won't want to miss this group of talent!    Troy Elliot is a talented OLB from Chambers Academy who's coming off his best season yet last fall.   "Elliot is a versatile linebacker who can create huge plays rushing the passer, defending the run, and dropping back in coverage. Elliot is highly instinctual and always seems to be near the ball. He's great at identifying plays and has the athleticism to cover ground and get to the ballcarrier quickly.   I'm really impressed with Elliott's coverage skills. He's terrific at getting his hands on the ball, frequently creating PBUs and INTs by perfectly timing and jumping underneath routes. I think his pass defense really makes him an every-down threat to opposing offenses. He's a really well-rounded defender."    60 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 8 pass breakups, 2 FR, and 1 TF and my team finished with a 12-2 record and a state championship victor      Sean Sigler is a talented up-and-coming DB from Spain Park who's primed for a big junior season this upcoming fall.   "At 6'2 185, Sigler has the size, length, speed, and physicality to create a ton of problems for opposing WRs. He's quick on his feet, does a great job using his size to his advantage, and frequently lays out to get his hands on the ball and force PBUs/INTs.   I'm really impressed with Sigler's coverage skills. I think that's what really separates him as a prospect, and it's going to take him far. I'm excited to see what he'll do for Spain Park's defense this upcoming fall. He has a big season ahead."   A few days ago, Sigler picked up his first offer from Kansas State.   I'm excited to see what he can do here in a few months. "At 6'2 210, Simpson plays with a ton of impressive speed and pursuit. He's a relentless pass rusher who uses his leverage, strength, and dominant motor to go 100% of every snap. Simpson truly impresses with his pursuit- he has so many chasedown sacks in his film, no quarterback is actually out of reach for a guy like him.   On top of that, Simpson is a high-IQ defender who reacts really well to opposing offenses. You can see it when he's the one collapsing screen passes and running around sideline to sideline to create stops- it's super fun to watch."   I'm really impressed with Simpson's tape and highly recommend everyone check him out. He's an every-down threat on Scottsboro's defensive line who's already generating college interest and will soon demand a lot more attention.      [player_tooltip player_id='2137705' first='DJ' last='Hodge'] is an up-and-coming 2029 WR from Opelika who's caught our eye with some of his offseason tape.   "I'm calling it now- [player_tooltip player_id='2137705' first='DJ' last='Hodge'] will find a ton of success in Opelika's passing attack over the next few years. Hodge has shown some really impressive athletic traits already with his speed, acceleration, and vertical. He's a talented athlete who can burn defenders in the open field using only his speed.   I'm also seriously impressed with Hodge's hands and catch radius. He can bring in some awesome high-point catches through heavy coverage by using his size to his advantage. I'm really excited to watch him over the next few years. I think he's shown us some serious athleticism and potential already. "Coger is highly athletic- he has great speed and acceleration, can make defenders miss, and plays with a ton of physicality out of the backfield. Coger has great initial quickness but explodes with speed once he's past the line of scrimmage- he's patient in the backfield, waits for blocks and rushing lanes to develop, then finally cuts through to create massive plays.   Coger's acceleration in the open field is extremely impressive; he can completely separate from defenses within just a few seconds, consistently turning upfield and creating massive plays on the ground. I think what impresses me most about Coger is how he pairs his vision and speed together- it doesn't matter if he's on offense, defense, or special teams, he sees the field incredibly well and quickly finds ways to create impact plays wherever he lines up."   A little while back, Coger picked up a HUGE offer from LSU! It was awesome to see, he's a seriously talented player who's impressed us since his freshman season- I won't be surprised when he picks up more national attention soon.
