A couple weeks ago, the dome was alive with the next generation of football talent as middle school athletes from across the region converged to compete, impress, and elevate their games in Jackson, NJ. At this highly anticipated event, several young standouts made it clear they're more than just players of today; they're potential stars of tomorrow. From explosive runs and precision throws to lockdown coverage and instinctive defensive plays, these athletes showcased the skill, determination, and promise that could one day see them lighting up high school fields. These are the players that with a little fine tuning could make a big splash in the near future.

Representing the 2032 class, [player_tooltip player_id='2083718' first='Eli' last='McCrary'] stood out at Who's Next by going toe to toe with the older players in attendance. Eli possesses an athletic build with ideal cornerback dimensions, giving him the frame and physical tools to excel. With a high ceiling, once he hits his growth spurt, he has the potential to perform at an elite level.

Against the receivers, he showed sticky coverage, staying tight on a their hips, which he showcased during a well executed comeback route. He capped off his performance by slapping down a pass toward the end of the event, highlighting both his awareness and ball skills.

One of the standout receivers in the 2030 class, this smaller but explosive receiver thrives in man-to-man coverage. [player_tooltip player_id='2045098' first='Julian' last='Simpkins'] has a knack for getting defenders' feet twisted, creating instant separation on his breaks. Off the line, he is one of the quickest and most unpredictable receivers, using his lightning fast feet to gain an early advantage. An electric route runner with reliable hands, Julian combines agility, precision, and playmaking ability, making him a highly dangerous threat in any passing scheme.

Taj Filler caught my attention early on in the day and never let up. While he may be smaller than your average 2030 wide receiver, what he lacks in size he more than makes up for with speed and quickness. Shifty and elusive, Taj consistently uses sharp, quick footwork to keep defensive backs guessing and off balance. He projects as a slot receiver, where his burst and change of direction can create separation and turn short routes into big plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='1558199' first='Donavon' last='Lynch'] is a big tight end target with legitimate high school size already, and he made that presence felt throughout the event. In one-on-one drills, he towered over defensive backs, consistently using his frame to his advantage. Rangy with an impressive catch radius, he has the ability to reel the ball in even when it's outside his frame, rarely letting anything feel out of his grasp. With his size and natural ball skills, Donavon projects as a matchup problem who can become a reliable, go-to target in the passing game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2088885' first='Rui' last='Andre'] brings impressive length to the defensive back position, standing out immediately with his tall frame and long arms and legs. He shows strong safety characteristics, with the potential to cover a lot of ground and impact plays over the top. His size and range give him intriguing upside, especially as he continues to develop physically and refine his instincts. With his length and projected range, Rui has the tools to become a difference maker in the secondary.
