As we near the end of the month of February, the 2026 high school football offseason is in full swing. With that in mind, I have been taking some time to evaluate some top prospects in the state of Kentucky who are still seeking their first offer. When doing so, there were some very skilled under-the-radar wide receivers in the state who caught my attention. With that being said, here are five receivers in the state of Kentucky who have stood out to me and have yet to pick up their first offer to play at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1665345' first='Gaines' last='Howard'] is a player who I'm very surprised hasn't picked up an offer yet. Howard had an outstanding junior season, catching 60 passes for 1,014 yards and 14 touchdowns in 15 games. He is a skilled route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation with ease. Howard also has explosive speed which he uses to blow by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game and to pick up yards after the catch. Gaines also scored one rushing touchdown as a junior and made an impact on defense, recording 27 tackles and three interceptions (tied for team lead). I expect a lot of eyes to be on Howard heading into his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1227241' first='Jason' last='Hagan'] is another under-the-radar 2027 receiver who has stood out to me. He played a key role in the explosive Trinity passing attack as a junior, catching 33 passes for 660 yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games. Hagan does a great job of using his speed and sudden breaks in his routes to make it very difficult for opposing defensive backs to stick with him in man coverage. He is also very reliable in contested/jump ball situations, using his athleticism to attack passes at their highest point and strong hands to bring in catches through contact. Hagan has received a solid amount of college interest and I wouldn't be surprised to see some offers start coming his way this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='1651924' first='Colten' last='Barger'] had a breakout year as a sophomore, leading his team in receiving with 47 catches for 1,078 yards and 15 touchdowns in 14 games. Barger is a very reliable deep threat, using his speed to run by opposing defensive backs with ease. He is also very dangerous after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes/screens into big gains at any given moment. Colten also scored a rushing touchdown this past season and played a key role on defense, accounting for 70 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown). Barger is a player who college coaches should have on their radar heading into his junior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2066981' first='Hunter' last='Bingham'] is another receiver who had a strong sophomore year. He finished the season as Estill County's leading receiver, catching 60 passes for 771 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games. Bingham is a player who they like to get the ball to quickly in the open field as he has shown the ability to get up the field in a hurry to turn short passes into big plays. He has also proven to be an impressive route runner, showing the ability to create separation and settle into openings in the secondary to pose as an open target for his quarterback. Bingham also scored one rushing touchdown and returned a kickoff for a touchdown as a sophomore. He also made an impact on defense, recording 38 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. Bingham will be a player worth keeping a close eye on over the next couple years.

The final receiver in the state of Kentucky without an offer who has stood out to me is [player_tooltip player_id='2066961' first='Cade' last='Anthrop']. Cade had an impressive sophomore season, leading his team with 32 receptions for 604 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games. Anthrop is a very reliable deep threat, using his speed to his advantage to create separation from opposing defensive backs. He has also shown the ability to pick up extra yards after the catch and does a great job of adjusting to the ball when passes are under thrown or off target. Cade also returned a kickoff for a touchdown as a sophomore and played a key role on defense, finishing the year with 29 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and a team-high three interceptions. Anthrop will be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop over the next two years.
