New Hard-Hitting LBs Added to Our 2028 Rankings

I'm really impressed with Hankins' blitzing ability. He's quick off the snap, has violent hands, and can completely overwhelm offensive linemen to create pressure or take down the quarterback.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Hankins is just as good at defending the run. He flies downhill, fills in gaps, and consistently meets the ball carrier at or behind the line of scrimmage to create stops for little to no gain. I'm super impressed with his tackling- he gets low, wraps up, and can dish out some huge hits as well. Hankins is another defender I think we can expect a ton from next season- he's got a ton of talent."</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hankins was dominant throughout all of last fall. I think he has a huge junior season ahead of him. Wynn is quick off the snap, tracks the ball, and quickly works his way around offensive linemen to get to the ball carrier and make stops.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>I'm most impressed with Wynn's pursuit skills- he plays with a ton of effort, has great closing speed, and does a great job wrapping up the ball carrier and not allowing extra yards after making contact.</em>"</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wynn had a breakout year on Hewitt Trussville's defense last fall. He can rush the passer, defend the run, and even drop into coverage and make plays. I'm seriously impressed with how he finds his way into the backfield. He has a dominant blend of speed, power, and aggression he uses to work around offensive linemen and create huge stops behind the line of scrimmage.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Gearhart isn't some one-trick pony. He has some seriously impressive coverage skills that make him an even bigger threat to opposing offenses. He does a great job dropping back and staying with quicker targets downfield, and consistently finds ways to get hands on the ball and create splash plays."</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gearhart had a really impressive season for Fairhope this past year. I'm really looking forward to his junior year. I love watching him defend the run. He's constantly finding ways to create stops for loss, flying downhill to dish out some absolutely massive hits to the ballcarrier.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Gray is a really strong tackler who doesn't allow for any additional yardage after he makes contact. I'm really impressed with his sideline-to-sideline speed and how he takes guys down in the open field. He's always making some really impressive hustle plays in pursuit.
