2028 CA Rankings Update: SoCal New Additions to Know

<p><em>Breaking down some of the new additions to the PRZ CA 2028 rankings out of Southern California.</em></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Westenberger was one of the biggest OL risers in San Diego last season with the major upside he showed at OT for San Marcos and checks in as one of the highest ranked new additions to the 2028 OL rankings in our latest update. He's a big, powerful blocker at 6'5"/285 that can move bodies off the ball and consistently looks to punish defenders in the run game. He generates strong leg drive out of his stance, hammers defenders in space, and shows his range beating targets to the landmarks. Westenberger just picked up his first offer from San Diego St. in January and looks like an early name to watch on the recruiting trail this offseason.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Ty_Westenberger/status/2006616965058802035?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Sharp was added to the 2028 CA rankings after a productive season with Oaks Christian in the fall. The 6'/160 wideout transferred in from Nevada ahead of his sophomore campaign and posted 372 yards and 3 TDs on 24 catches. He's a quick, twitched-up athlete and explosive playmaker that can separate downfield and haul in tough catches with impressive body control. He paces his routes well, is deceptive with his breakpoints, and shows explosive initial burst off the LOS. The 6'2"/195 wideout caught 24 passes for 300 yards and 4 TDs in seven games as a sophomore. He's a big-bodied target that can make tough, physical catches on the perimeter with his size and strength advantage. He shows good quickness and agility in his transitions and is a reliable, high-effort blocker. The 6'2"/270 OT/DT is a physical athlete that can move his feet and make disruptive plays in the backfield on defense. He excels in space with his ability to close the distance quickly and gets off the ball with an explosive first step on both sides of the ball. He shows good power and violence with his hands, attacks with leverage and a strong base, and looks to finish blocks to the ground. He was an attendee at our PRZ CA Showcase in January where he impressed with his testing numbers and route-running ability in the 1v1 period. He's a dynamic athlete that proved to be an effective vertical threat with his straight-line speed and exceptional ball skills. He can bring in passes outside his frame with strong, reliable hands and is a slick, elusive playmaker after the catch.
