The Prep Redzone camp once again proved to be a strong evaluation setting for Ohio's next wave of defensive back talent. With competitive reps, live coverage situations, and high-level coaching, several young prospects separated themselves from the pack. Below are the defensive backs who showed out and earned serious attention as players to monitor moving forward.

DB | Gahanna Lincoln | Class of 2028 | 5'10”, 160 lbs
Camp Honor: Defensive MVP

Dunlap was one of the most complete defensive backs on the field and left no doubt why he earned Defensive MVP honors. He consistently matched up with top receivers and held his own in coverage, showing advanced footwork, patience, and a high football IQ well beyond his years. Dunlap plays the ball exceptionally well in the air, stays balanced through routes, and shows the toughness needed to compete snap after snap. His ability to process quickly and trust his technique makes him a true Division I-level prospect to watch in Ohio's 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591909' first='Bryland' last='Alexander']

DB | Gahanna Lincoln | Class of 2028 | 6'0”, 180 lbs

Alexander gives Gahanna Lincoln another high-ceiling defensive back in the same class. With his long frame, good length, and strong lower-body mechanics, he consistently disrupted receivers throughout camp. He plays with confidence at the line of scrimmage, shows clean footwork in transition, and has the physical tools coaches covet at the next level. Alexander's upside is evident, and as he continues to refine his technique, he has the potential to emerge as one of the premier secondary prospects in his class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2092235' first='Anthony' last='Arnold']

DB | Pickerington North | 5'9”, 160 lbs | 2028

Arnold impressed with his patience and discipline in coverage. He showed the ability to stay square, trust his feet, and carry receivers vertically down the field. His hand-eye coordination stood out during ball drills, and he flashed the tools needed to be effective both in man coverage and in space. Arnold is a technically sound defender who understands leverage and positioning, making him a prospect worth tracking as his development continues.

[player_tooltip player_id='2092843' first='Lathan' last='Western']

DB | Whitehall-Yearling | Class of 2027 | 5'10”, 161 lbs

Western brings a gritty, competitive edge to the secondary. He uses his hands well, competes through routes, and plays with confidence against receivers. His footwork and athletic ability suggest he's on the verge of a breakout season, especially as his frame continues to mature. Western is the type of defender who does the little things right and could quickly rise in regional conversations with a strong junior campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='2091230' first='Elijah' last='Marshall']

DB | Centennial | Class of 2027 | 5'9”, 145 lbs

Marshall quietly put together a strong showing throughout the camp. He's a smooth mover with solid footwork and an excellent ability to track and read the ball in the air. What stood out most was his resilience—bouncing back in competitive drills and showing growth throughout the day. Marshall has the traits to become one of the top defensive backs in the Columbus City League, and his instincts give him a strong foundation for the future.
