Prospect Spotlight: 5 2027s We're Excited to Watch in 2026

Welcome back to our Prospect Spotlight!   Today, we're watching 5 2027s who really impressed us this past season. We can't wait to watch these guys in 2026, so we're taking a look at the film they put together from last fall.   As always, be sure to take a look at their tape! You won't want to miss out on this kind of talent.    [player_tooltip player_id='2106379' first='Kaiden' last='Mitchell'] is a talented junior LB from Moody who helped create a ton of stops in their state title run last fall.   "Mitchell is an instinctual linebacker who can get downhill and defend the run and also provide reliable coverage on passing downs. He's quick on his feet, can cover in space, and has the play recognition and IQ to identify and disrupt plays all over the field.   I'm really impressed with how quickly Mitchell closes in on the ball carrier. He can make some really impressive hustle plays in pursuit, especially against the run. I think Mitchell's best trait is his versatility on defense. He's really reliable in coverage and is an aggressive tackler in the run game- I'm excited to watch him in 2026."   Mitchell made a ton of great plays last season and put together some great tape in the process. It's really impressive watching him fly around the field to break up passes. With his size, he presents a multitude of matchup issues against TEs/RBs.   Faulkner is also great at defending the run. He's excellent at reading and reacting to plays, consistently putting himself in great position to fill in gaps and take down the ball carrier no matter where he initially lines up.“   Faulkner had another huge year this past fall, recording 121 total tackles (9 for loss), one sack, 4 PBUs, one INT, 4 FF (3 FRs), and one TD.   I've become a big fan of Faulkner's over the past year and think he has a big year ahead of him in 2026. If you haven't watched his tape before, be sure to check out some of his clips below:      [player_tooltip player_id='2106418' first='Jamarcus' last='Lett'] is a talented two-way player for Williamson who's made a huge impact at LB and RB.   "Defensively, Lett might be one of the hardest-hitting LBs in the state. He's incredibly strong and can quickly close in on anyone in the run or pass game to deliver devastating hits to the ball carrier. On top of that, he has a knack for getting into the backfield and creating stops for loss. It doesn't matter if he's blitzing after the QB or defending the run, he'll find a way behind the line.   Offensively, Lett is a productive RB out of the backfield who uses his speed and vision to make the most out of every carry. He's quick on his feet, can cut and change his direction well, and does a great job fighting for every possible yard each carry."   A little while back, Lett picked up an offer from Tuskegee. With his talent, I'm sure more will head his way soon. He put together an impressive junior season that you can check out below:      [player_tooltip player_id='2106446' first='CJ' last='Sankey'] is a talented passer from Montgomery Catholic who had an impressive breakout season in 2025.   "Sankey has some really impressive arm talent, especially when it comes to his accuracy. He consistently places the ball perfectly for his WRs, hitting them in stride or putting the ball only where they can bring it in.   Sankey is excellent in the pocket. He does a great job avoiding pressure and standing tall to deliver huge passes downfield. On top of that, he has the athleticism to escape, extend plays, and make some really nice throws on the move.   Sankey had an impressive season last fall, completing 65% of his passes for 2528 yards and 25 TDs in the air.   I thought Sankey put together some really impressive tape from last fall. If you haven't seen him play, be sure to check out some of his clips below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1907043' first='Walker' last='Collins'] is a talented WR from Bayside Academy who put together a really impressive junior year out wide last fall.   "At 5'9 160, Collins has speed and quickness that can embarrass any secondary. He's quick off the line of scrimmage, runs impressive routes, and can generate separation off any DB with how he flies around the field.   Collins is really skilled after the catch. He's explosive, has impressive speed, and can effortlessly cut and change his direction in the open field, making the most out of every catch. Keep watch for him in 2026."   Collins developed a strong connection with QB [player_tooltip player_id='222965' first='Davis' last='Barnett'], hauling in 47 receptions for 877 yards and 12 TDs on the year.   I think Collins will have an even bigger year this upcoming season. We all need to be on the lookout for him next fall. In the meantime, be sure to watch some of his film below:
