As we begin a new year, we'll start taking an early look ahead at top teams and players in the state of Ohio who we'll be keeping an eye on in 2026. Based on what we've seen so far, for the Class of 2027, it seems especially strong for the offensive tackle position. These four elite prospects stand out:

I've seen Moeller offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1285635' first='Kalel' last='Johnson'] many times over the years, and the 6-foot-7, 305-pound prospect has potential that's through the roof. Strong, tough, physical, with rare size and arm length, Johnson has the chance to be a cornerstone offensive tackle for whichever top college team lands him. Johnson flashes being very good in pass protection and has great use-of-hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602661' first='Davis' last='Seaman'] is coming off a great week at the Army-Navy All-American Bowl. The Bishop Watterson High School offensive tackle has a fast first step and can be extremely physical as a run blocker. He has very violent hands, looks quick-footed and thin in his ankles, and has a lean frame to grow and add bulk. Back-to-back state champ will anchor a front five and team hoping to three-peat in 2026. Davis holds more than 20 offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='949774' first='Lual' last='Aleu'] is a top returning prospect for Winton Woods. The 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive tackle is hard to get around just to his mass. Tall, strong, and lean, he is a force in the run game for the Warriors, who look to have a better postseason in 2026 after a narrow loss to Princeton eliminated them from state title contention. Aleu has plenty of upside and offseason development should make him even better in 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='1207692' first='Reed' last='Gerken'] is a mauler at the offensive tackle position. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound starting left tackle for Perrysburg is tough and plays with high effort. He is a great finisher who can latch onto defenders and take them for a ride, running his feet on contact, and he is an outstanding run blocker, possibly better than anybody on this list in that department. Gerken holds 19 offers and I would expect that list to grow this spring.
