5 QBs to Watch Out for at NJ "Who's Next"

On January 24th, the top middle school talent in New Jersey and the surrounding areas will be on full display. With players already planning to showcase that weekend, we have a good sense of which players have the ability to light it up that Saturday. Starting with the quarterbacks, these are names you don't want to miss. He stood out as a crisp, consistent thrower with polished mechanics, showing the ability to deliver a full range of throws with both touch and velocity. His powerful follow through and accuracy remained steady throughout the day.   He also displayed excellent chemistry with his receivers, consistently throwing on time as they came out of their breaks, making it difficult for defenders to contest for the ball. Vincent's timing, anticipation, and overall command of the position were impressive for the middle school level, and it wouldn't be surprising to see his name in the conversation for QB MVP.     Christian is a quarterback who continues to generate buzz, and for good reason. His film consistently shows him operating at a level above his competition and for his age, highlighted by outstanding ball placement and decision making. He does a great job layering throws over defenders and dropping the ball cleanly into his receivers' hands, which is reflected in his impressive 24 touchdown to just 1 interception ratio.   What stands out the most is his poise and intelligence at the position. Christian stands tall and confident in the pocket, showing a strong understanding of matchups and coverages and a clear sense of where the ball needs to go. He is a clean, accurate thrower with a powerful arm and a quick release, consistently delivering the ball on time and away from defenders when I last saw him live. With his ability to protect the football and drive it downfield, expect RJ to showcase his arm strength and connect on several big time deep passes.     CJ is another quarterback I evaluated coming out of the Jersey Shore NJ AYF All-Star tryouts, and he's a player who immediately stands out from a physical standpoint. As one of the tallest and more physically developed quarterbacks on the field, his presence is hard to miss and gives him a natural advantage heading into the Who's Next event. He flashes a high ceiling with plenty of untapped potential, including the tools for a big arm, as his development will continue to hinge on refining his mechanics. While I haven't seen him perform live since September, there's a strong chance he's put in the work since then, and I fully expect him to show out at the event.     [player_tooltip player_id='2072573' first='Nicholas' last='Pierro'] is a quarterback whose name continues to rise in conversations, and he's quickly becoming someone to keep a close eye on. While I haven't had the chance to evaluate him live or on film yet, the feedback surrounding his play has been consistently positive, particularly when it comes to his decision making as plays develop in front of him. He heads into the event as somewhat of a mystery, but based on the buzz alone, Nicholas is absolutely a quarterback worth getting familiar with.
