2028 Winter Rankings Update: New Top 75 Prospects

Here are the new 2028 Top 75 rankings after their sophomore seasons have been completed.    The Bluefield Beavers have a special 2028 class with 5 Top 40 prospects thus far, but don't overlook WR [player_tooltip player_id='2066890' first='Jordan' last='Hess']. He was a reliable target out of the slot as a sophomore and a leading receiver on the team who deserves more spotlight for his work. Hess does a great job getting open on underneath routes with sure hands that'll consistently move the chains. He's also a quality blocker in the slot at 5'9 155, and will be a top receiver prospect in the class if he can develop more explosiveness over the next two years.     The Capital Cougars have some talented and promising prospects in their 2028 class, and one of the early top OL contenders is [player_tooltip player_id='2104110' first='Jason' last='Martin']. His young 6'2 305 frame catches your eye right away on film as a physically imposing sophomore with a bright future. Once Martin develops quicker feet and overall athleticism, he'll have one of the higher ceilings in the 2028 offensive line class in our eyes.     2028 Woodrow Wilson OL/DL Andrew Sweeny showed potential on both sides of the line for the Flying Eagles in his sophomore season. He's ranked as an offensive lineman for now, but has defensive upside as well, where he saw a lot of reps in 2025. Sweeney has a quality early frame at 6'2 260, and is strong for his age, which should allow him to develop into a top big man prospect in the class.     We really like the potential of 2028 Capital WR [player_tooltip player_id='2104065' first='Jordan' last='Whitehead'] in the small sample size of highlights we were able to watch. Limited film and unknown measurements have him potentially lower in the rankings than he should be, but his explosiveness jumps out when watching him. Whitehead has dynamic upside out of the slot and is someone to keep a close eye on moving forward.     The 2028 defensive line class is still in its early stages of emerging prospects, but an early high upside prospect to know is South Charleston's [player_tooltip player_id='1624329' first='Dakarai' last='Okafor-Dogan']. We don't have his full measurements, but his 6'3 length shows up on film as a long and athletic prospect with moldable physical traits. Okafor-Dogan can disrupt throws with his wingspan and has the flexibility and short-area quickness to close on the ball, unlike most defensive linemen in the state at his age.     The upside is obvious with 2028 Brooke TE [player_tooltip player_id='1221855' first='Crosby' last='Morris'] when watching his film, as he steadily develops year over year. His 6'5 170 frame oozes potential once he fills it out further, with ball skills that show up on film. As a big wideout last season for the Bruins, Morris was a 1-on-1 matchup problem and a good security blanket for his quarterback, who could just throw it in his direction and allow his imposing catch radius do the rest. His ceiling is much higher than his current ranking if he continues to take the next steps in his development.     Javon Letourneu had an excellent sophomore season for the Roane County Raiders as a versatile athlete who can impact the game in a variety of ways. He was the leading rusher with 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns, while also being the top receiver in their Wing-T offense with over 300 yards and 4 more scores. Letourneau is also a capable defensive back with 40 tackles and an interception, and now ranks as a Top 10 ATH in the 2028 class because of his versatility.     The Huntington Highlanders have a promising young defensive back in their 2028 class who has yet to fully make a varsity impact, but should have more opportunities moving forward in [player_tooltip player_id='1700962' first='Gaige' last='McClellan']. His 6'3 185 frame stands out on film as a deep safety who's rangy on the back end of their JV defense. He saw spot duty on varsity last season among a talented group of skill athletes in the program and was a valuable special teams player for them as well.     Lewis County's [player_tooltip player_id='2104200' first='Isaac' last='Pickens'] is a linebacker prospect to know in the 2028 class and did a great job for the Minutemen as a sophomore this season. He looks like your classic middle linebacker on film behind his 6'1 210 frame and neck pad who plays the position how you'd expect. Pickens' ceiling as a prospect will be determined by his athleticism, as the other intangibles are there.     The Independence Patriots have a pair of 2028 offensive linemen that you'll want to keep a close eye on, with the previously mentioned [player_tooltip player_id='2077341' first='Jaidyn' last='Shuck'] and now classmate [player_tooltip player_id='2104113' first='Charles' last='Acord']. A lack of film has Acord lower in the rankings for now, but we know he's a talented player deserving of early recognition until then. He has the frame and upside to be a top lineman in the class once more tape is available of him to evaluate properly.
