He explodes out of his stance and creates immediate knock-back with inside hands and a quick lockout and shows he can quickly shed blocks and split double teams/take on drive blocks without losing ground. He also shows he can transition run to pass quickly with active hands and a good motor backside when collapsing the pocket. He shows he can create vertical push to create the edge and get to the second level/block in space effectively. In the passing game, he has strong hands in traffic and a big catch radius in tight coverage while able to win on 50/5 balls and quickly gain yards after the catch. Overall, he is a very physical ball carrier with plus blocking skills to go along with his receiving abilities. He is a long strider with strong hands and a big catch radius downfield that can chunk yardage and pluck the ball out if the air, boxing out smaller defenders and is a big time mismatch in the red zone. He also shows he can stretch the field or settle in zone coverage and quickly knife upfield while tough to bring down in open space and has some short area twitch and wiggle while not afraid to run through contact. He has good tape and shows he can quickly reset the line, win with inside hands and is stout against the run when splitting double teams and not giving up ground inside. He flashes he can quickly go from speed to power and win with strength and a heavy strike/good leg drive through out his progression and is a high motor kid that can work flat backside and is athletic and fluid for his size. He shows closing speed and some change of direction and twitch in the open field when re-directing and is very athletic for his size with room to pack on more weight to his frame. In the run game, he can control blockers with his strike and long arms, uses his length well and is a high motor kid that is always around the ball. Toscano can play anywhere along the defensive front but should fit in nicely as a 4-down defensive end in college with plus athletic abilities and speed around the corner.
