PRNY Film Watch: Explosive Rise

It is a film review that highlights several explosive players in New York State that colleges, scouts, and teams should pay extra attention to. These players put together solid tape and caught my eye as the season wrapped up.     Matthew Monahan is a high-energy LB that loves to tackle the opponent. This is a versatile LB that can play inside or outside. Even more, the pure ability to fly up and make one-on-one tackles in space was a highlight. Sniffing out screens for a short gain or near nothing would pop. Even in pass drops, Monahan showed the discipline to stay with his man and chase the QB if he bailed out of the pocket. Christian Lacrocca consistently emerged as a playmaker within his offense, producing at a high level. Straightaway, the ability to run double moves and execute creative routes that generate 4-5 yards of separation was amazing to see. Therefore, on short breaking-in, out, or dig routes, making a play after the catch is unleashed. His smooth, expanding route tree paired with quick hips and feet allows him to change direction at a fast level. Operating in the Y receiver role or even out at the boundary pronounced his flexibility. Strong hands at the point of the catch, especially in red zone situations. Altogether, an explosive weapon!      [player_tooltip player_id='1692334' first='Aiden' last='Jorgensen'] is a TE/WR/OLB that had an explosive final season at Walt Whitman High School. Undeniably, at TE the YAC ability was a major eye-catcher, as Jorgensen was a difficult ball carrier to bring down. Significantly, making tough catches in traffic and in jump ball situations was a standout. In any case, Jorgensen shows the flexibility to be moved all around, including lining up in the slot. Aggressiveness to drive block in motion, especially in space, was strong. He will set up lanes for teammates in the run game. Defensively, Jorgensen stood out as a stand-up OLB. Coming off the LOS with speed was a huge highlight. Jorgensen loves using his flexibility and quickness against blockers to get after the QB.      This is an OG in [player_tooltip player_id='1345198' first='Ryan' last='Healey'] that I am shocked has not gotten more attention from programs. His explosiveness, strength, body control, and ability to win with leverage at the POA were evident. Moreover, making dominating blocks in the second level of the defense was a must-watch on tape. Given these points, the hand usage to grab the opponent quickly with control and power to get them out of the run lane was clear. Knowing how to reset in pass protection and using his leverage to his advantage were dividends. Healey did provide snaps at the DT position, where he was able to show fight and quickness getting into the backfield. Tronolone is 6'2”, 180 pounds, and just wrapped up his junior season at St. Joseph by the Sea High School. Furthermore, that arm accuracy was big time when hitting corner routes on multiple occasions. Escaping pressure, resetting his base, and putting air under the football when needed will pop up. By all means, this is a QB that stands strong in the QB with solid poise and will deliver strikes.
