Prep Redzone AL's 2025 All-State Team: RB Selections

What an incredible season! With the year coming to an end, it's time for us to give our All-State selections!   Today, we're focusing on some of the most dominant RBs in the state!   You won't want to miss out on this group of talent. Be sure to check out their film below. Now, here we go:   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">7A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1018700' first='AJ' last='Alexander']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/aj-alexander/"></a> is an explosive RB out of Dothan who's dominated the 7A the last few seasons.   “Alexander plays with terrific speed and elusiveness, great vision, and a lot of toughness that allows him to make huge plays on the ground. Alexander does a great job finding open lanes and navigating his way through defenses- he rarely takes on contact and can find yardage every carry he gets.“   This season, Alexander recorded 181 carries for 1786 yards and 27 TDs in just 10 games!   Soon after, Alexander signed with North Alabama, giving them a huge addition in their 2026 class.   It was a blast covering Alexander these last few years. He's a talented player with a bright future ahead at the next level.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">6A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1850672' first='Damarrian' last='Barnes'] is an explosive RB out of Stanhope Elmore who had a breakout season on the ground this fall.   “Barnes has elite vision, impressive speed and acceleration, and runs with great contact balance. Barnes did a great job finding rushing lanes and taking the ball upfield. He's patient when following his blockers and has the speed and elusiveness to shake and leave defenders in the dust   It's tough for defenders to take Barnes down. He's a hard runner with great contact balance and can power through defenders to make some highlight reel plays on the ground. I'm excited to see more from him this season.“   Barnes had an incredible year this fall, recording 249 carries for 2199 yards and 31 TDs on the ground, dominating every defense he faced.   We all need to look out for Barnes this upcoming year. He'll be a force in the 6A and has another huge year ahead of him next season.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1853962' first='Jake' last='Harper'] is an impressive RB from Fairview who put together an incredible season this fall in the 5A.   "At 6'0 215, Harper is a chore to tackle. He runs hard, can withstand contact, and has the size and speed to create big plays on the ground. Harper does a great job maximizing every carry. He's really efficient with the ball and consistently finds extra yards after defenders initiate contact.   Once he gets moving, good luck stopping Harper. He has some impressive acceleration in the open field and can easily outrun defenders in pursuit.   Harper was terrific this year- racking up 246 carries for 2154 yards and 31 TDs on the ground and making it look easy in the process. He's a talented back coming off a great season in the 5A.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">4A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1051656' first='Ezavier' last='Crowell'], one of the nation's top RB recruits and Alabama signee, finished the year as our 4A selection once again.   “Crowell is a rare talent who can do everything at the RB position. He's extremely fast, has tons of twitch, and can easily turn upfield and make defenders miss for massive plays on the ground.   In addition to his speed, Crowell is a physical back who can easily shake defenders. He's strong, runs hard, and has elite contact balance he uses to always stay on his feet despite big hits.“   Crowell was once again unstoppable this season, racking up 209 carries for 2632 yards and 35 TDs on the ground.   Crowell will be a star at the next level. Make sure you check out some of his highlights below. The future is bright for this young man.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1408968' first='Maurice' last='Winston'] is an explosive RB from Randolph County who completely took over the 3A this past season.   “Winston is incredibly fast and can move effortlessly with the ball in his hands. He's excellent at finding rushing lanes/following his blocks, has incredible speed in the open field, and is extremely difficult to bring down due to his contact balance.“   In 12 games, Winston racked up 2616 yards and 35 TDs on just 184 carries, making the most out of every opportunity with the ball.   Make sure you check out some of Winston's tape below. He put together an unbelievable season this year.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1718031' first='Kylen' last='Johnson'] is a dynamic ATH from Coosa Christian who had a monster season on the ground in the 2A.   "Johnson is a highly athletic prospect who can hurt you on either side of the ball with his speed, ball skills, and instincts.   At DB, Johnson is an instinctual playmaker who flies around the field to create stops every down. He's a huge threat out in coverage who can lock up any opposing WR 1- QBs would be wise not to throw his way.   Offensively, Johnson uses his speed and twitch to gain tons of separation downfield. He's terrific at finding ways to get open, and once he does, he can create tons after the catch. All in all, he's a seriously talented player everyone should have on their radar moving forward."   Johnson was a driving force in Coosa Christian's championship run- recording 1502 yards and 25 TDs off of just 189 attempts.   Make sure you check out some of Johnson's tape below; he was unstoppable this fall:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1A</h2>        [player_tooltip player_id='1752026' first='Lake' last='Norris'] is a dominant RB who had another incredible year for Berry's ground game in the 1A.   "[player_tooltip player_id='1752026' first='Lake' last='Norris'] is a big play threat out of Berry's backfield who can tear up defenses on the ground with his vision, speed, and physicality. Norris is terrific at finding open space- he's patient behind the line of scrimmage, is great at navigating through traffic, and seems to constantly find ways to blast through defenses unscathed for huge gains.   I'm really impressed with Norris' athleticism. He's a workhorse back who completely exhausts opposing defenses. His speed, acceleration, and stamina allow him to consistently create huge plays on the ground without getting gassed. I don't know how defenses can gameplan against him since he rarely leaves the field."   Norris ended this year with some ridiculous stats on the ground, listing 216 carries for 1843 yards and 21 TDs.
