Notes from NY: RBs Catching Scouts Attention

Continuing the discussion of the top players from this NY Showcase this past Saturday, we put our attention towards my favorite position to evaluate, the running backs. Being my first time up in New York at an event, I have to say I was impressed with what the state had to offer. Each of these running backs showed the skills and characteristics necessary to thrive next year on the field. Each of these players deserve some eyes on them as we travel through the offseason. [player_tooltip player_id='1274643' first='Christian' last='Bordeaux'] was one of the clear standouts at the NY Showcase this past Saturday, turning heads with a physical presence that immediately separated him from his peers. He looked like a man among boys, with his weight room work evident in his build and power. I was impressed from start to finish with how Christian performed on the field.   Christian consistently showed the ability to dig his foot into the ground and get north-south in a hurry, pairing that burst with impressive quickness in the open field. He ran with confidence and decisiveness, never hesitating through the hole and showing no fear when squaring up against the linebackers. His sharp, efficient cuts and overall polish made him one of the most impressive prospects of the entire day, earning him recognition as the top performing running back at the showcase.     [player_tooltip player_id='1513218' first='Jordan' last='Bishop'] made a strong case as one of the top running backs at the entire event, showcasing a rare blend of size, strength, and athleticism. Built solidly from top to bottom, he paired a powerful frame with an explosive first step. He showed the ability to win to the edge and turn upfield without resistance, while his quick, controlled footwork allowed him to move upfield with precision.   Bishop's receiving ability stood out in a big way as well, as he consistently beat defenders at the snap and created immediate separation with his speed. On breaks, his quick feet allowed him to gain an advantage against defensive backs in coverage and make it an easier pitch and catch. Overall, his versatility and playmaking ability set him apart throughout the showcase.     Brysen made the most of his reps at running back and quickly established himself as one of the fastest athletes at the entire event, a player who absolutely warrants attention going forward. With a tall frame and a true track style build, he brings a high ceiling and dangerous open field ability, where his speed allows him to erase angles and break away with ease.   In route work, Brysen showed strong competitiveness at the catch point and the quickness to beat defensive backs immediately off the line, creating instant separation for effortless completions. His athletic profile and versatility point to a player who could be a difference maker at running back or transition seamlessly into a starring role at wide receiver.     2028 running back [player_tooltip player_id='2066471' first='Tristan' last='Paganuzzi'] showed flashes that point to a very promising future. Another running back built for success, Tristan was comfortable attacking defenders in space, highlighted by a rep where he flat out schooled a linebacker in the open field. Tristan runs with a downhill mentality and good forward lean, consistently pressing the line of scrimmage and finishing runs with purpose. His combination of movement skills and physicality suggests a back who could truly flourish working between the tackles as he continues to develop.     Rashad's performance steadily built momentum throughout the day, with his best work coming as the reps piled up. He impressed with his quickness and ability to stay low and balanced through unplanned contact, allowing him to keep his feet moving and finish the play. His motor never wavered, and that all out effort was especially evident during the testing portion, where he stood out as one of the top performers in the cone drills. A smooth, efficient mover, Rashad consistently showed traits that translate well on the field.
