With the Elite All-State Team taken care of, we'll spend the month of December handing out Class All-State awards. Now, we move to the offensive side of the ball in 2A.

In writing these articles, we want to cast a wider net, expanding on the names that have already been established as the best of the best across classes, so we won't repeat names that were already listed on the Elite Team.

QUARTERBACK

[player_tooltip player_id='1657101' first='Kyle' last='Tracy'], SR, Iowa City Regina

The do-it-all senior quarterback for Regina, Tracy was one of the more impressive gunslingers the state of Iowa had to offer this summer. A leader and the general of the offense on the field for the Regals, Tracy was a playmaker through-and-through both through the air and on the ground. The tied for the 1A lead in passing touchdowns and the leader in completion percentage and total touchdowns, Tracy completed 124-of-169 passes (73.4%) for 2,317 yards, 35 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He also took 107 carries for 616 yards and 12 scores.

RUNNING BACKS

[player_tooltip player_id='1221929' first='Evan' last='Hildring'], JR, West Lyon

A workhorse runner with straight-line speed, once Hildring got going, he was awfully hard to stop. Riding 178 carries for 1,524 yards and 25 touchdowns to a state championship, Hildring showed not just speed, but the ability to break through arm tackles, burst, vision and the ability to turn on the burners and out run any would-be tacklers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1197445' first='Savion' last='Miller'], JR, Iowa City Regina

Though his stats may not fully bear it out, Miller is one of the top running back prospects that the state has seen in quite a while. With so many weapons and a quarterback that can make plays himself, Regina didn't have to fully rely on Miller every play, so he didn't set the world on fire with his stats, but when the Power 4 prospect touched the ball, he was electric for the Regals, showing strength, balance and elite playmaking ability. He finished the year with 127 carries for 1,068 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground, adding 16 catches for 338 yards and nine scores through the air.

WIDE RECEIVERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1668461' first='Zach' last='Nelson'], SR, Tri-Center

The 1A leader in receptions and yards, Nelson was one of the top beneficiaries of an air it out offense quarterbacked by [player_tooltip player_id='1621125' first='AJ' last='Harder']. In Tri-Center's first year since moving up to Class 1A from Class A, Nelson finished the year with 72 catches for 1,022 yards and 11 scores as Harder's go-to target through the air.

[player_tooltip player_id='1689991' first='Samuel' last='Benson'], SR, South Hardin

An explosive playmaker for the Tigers, Benson served as a quick-twitch receiver that could use a sliver of space to make a big play at any given time. One of the primary playmakers that helped South Hardin reach the UNI-Dome, Benson finished the year with 38 receptions for 1,011 yards and 13 touchdowns.

TIGHT END

[player_tooltip player_id='1971744' first='Brady' last='Otting'], SR, Cascade

The most productive tight in all classes by a long shot, Otting paired with Cascade QB [player_tooltip player_id='1954722' first='Mick' last='Hoffman'] for 19 touchdowns through the air -- the most in 11-man football in Iowa. He finished the season with 51 catches for 737 yards and those 19 scores. At 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Otting looks like he could play wide receiver at the next level.

OFFENSIVE LINE

Noah Horner, SR, Iowa City Regina

One of the OL up front that kept Tracy clean and paved the way for Miller, the 6-foot-2, 280-pound monster senior was critical in Regina's undefeated run before finishing as the 1A runners up.

[player_tooltip player_id='401668' first='Bryce' last='Kock'], SR, West Lyon

Another big, senior OL that stands at 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds, Kock was one of the five on the offensive line that helped establish the run for the Wildcats. Committed to Sioux Falls, Kock picked the Cougars over offers from programs like UNI, Minnesota State, Northwest Missouri State, Augustana and Northwestern College.

[player_tooltip player_id='1238612' first='Carter' last='Metzger'], SR, West Lyon

Teammates with Kock for the state champions, Metzger was equally important in imposing the will of the Wildcats on the ground. Part of a program that has competed for state titles year in and year out, there must be something in the water -- or on the farms -- in northwest Iowa that cultivates big offensive lineman.

Stanton Major, SR, Pleasantville

One of the more important offensive lineman on the Pleasantville roster that set things up for [player_tooltip player_id='1197483' first='Braylon' last='Bingham'] to have a super productive year through the air and on the ground, Major out-played his 6-foot-3 and 235 pound frame for the Trojans.

Carter Ruth, JR, Grundy Center

Another OL that was critical in the efforts of a team that made it to the UNI-Dome, Ruth is one of the latest GC linemen to find their way onto an all-state team. He was key in [player_tooltip player_id='1614184' first='Judd' last='Jirovsky']'s long list of awards and success in the outstanding lineage of Grundy Center football.

With the Elite All-State Team taken care of, we'll spend the month of December handing out Class All-State awards. Now, we move to the offensive side of the ball in 2A.
