As we get deeper into the month of December, we have entered the final round of rankings updates for the year. The latest class to be updated in state of Kentucky is the class of 2027. With the class update being officially posted, I have been taking the past week to break the rankings down by position. After already covering the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, here are our top ATH in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky who have made an impact at multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='378839' first='Garyon' last='Hobbs'] continued to establish himself as one of the best players in the state this season. On defense, Hobbs played in a linebacker/strong safety role where he was very reliable in pass coverage. He showed the ability to drop into his zone and read route combinations then break on the ball quickly to make a play when it was thrown his way. Hobbs finished this past season with a team-high five interceptions in 13 games, returning two of them for touchdowns. He also recorded 71 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and three sacks this season. On offense, Hobbs proved to be an explosive play maker both at receiver and out of the backfield, catching 35 passes for 583 yards and seven touchdowns while also rushing for over 200 yards and three touchdowns. He also returned one punt and a kickoff for touchdowns this season. Garyon currently holds several Power 4 offers and I expect more to come his way going into his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1160198' first='Chance' last='McPike'] is another 2027 ATH who continued to impress this season. McPike is electric in the open field on offense, both as a running back and out of the slot at receiver. He is able to use his speed to run away from the defense for a big gain and elusiveness to make defenders miss with ease. McPike caught 33 passes for 540 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games this season while also running the ball four times for 153 yards and a touchdown. He also proved to be a dangerous returner on special teams, returned one kickoff for a touchdown this season. Chance is committed to Sacramento State where I can see him making an immediate impact at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1665343' first='Larron' last='Westmoreland'] is another high-caliber ATH who continued to stand out as a junior. On defense, Westmoreland lines up at safety where he does a great job of providing run support. He reads the play quickly then comes downhill in a hurry to fill the lane and make the tackle. Larron finished his junior year with 67 tackles and three tackles for loss in 10 games. He also came away with three interceptions this season, returning one of them for a touchdown. Westmoreland also played a huge role on offense, catching 33 passes for 459 yards and six touchdowns while also running the ball 39 times for 289 yards and nine touchdowns, and throwing two touchdown passes. Larron currently holds multiple Power 4 offers and I expect more to come his way this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200641' first='Timmy' last='Emongo'] has been high on our radar for a while now and continued to impress this season. He was the go-to playmaker in the Cardinals offense this season, in both the run and passing games. As a ball carrier, he uses his speed to burst into the open field with a sense of urgency then run away from the defense for big gains. He finished this season with 110 carries for 1,052 yards and 18 touchdowns in 13 games. Emongo also does a great job of creating separation with ease as a receiver to serve as a true big-play threat. He led the Cardinals in receiving this year with 21 catches for 660 yards and 10 touchdowns. Timmy also made an impact on defense this season, recording 20 tackles, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown. Emongo currently holds multiple Power 4/Division I offers and I expect them to keep piling up for him moving forward.

To wrap up our top five ATH in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1375197' first='JuJu' last='Harmon Jr']. Harmon lined up at safety this season where he proved to be very reliable in coverage. He does a great job of reading the quarterback then breaking on the ball to make a play when it is thrown his way. JuJu finished his junior year with three interceptions in 13 games, returning one for a touchdown. He also recorded 67 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss, and made an impact on offense at receiver this season, catching seven passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Harmon already holds some Power 4/Division I offers but I expect more coaches to show interest in him this offseason.
