2027 Player Rankings: Must-See Prospect Film, Part XI

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of my guilty pleasures from watching film is that I get to find prospects that I&nbsp;<em>really</em>&nbsp;like. [player_tooltip player_id='1476922' first='John' last='DeVincenzo'] is a defensive lineman who lives up to this billing. What makes DeVincenzo particularly effective off of the edge is that he can get hips hips around offensive tackles. On tape it DeVincenzo appears to be very tall, giving him long limbs to work with as well. Using that big body of his, we see the rising junior use his arms and hands to shed blocks, while also being physical with kickouts. He fights the reach well and finishes his tackles. Immediately we see that De Los Santos threatens with speed off of the edge. When he is not threatening the edge, he has shown the versatility to work inside too. Reach blocks are recognized and quickness is utilized by De Los Santos in order to get over the top and fight playside. The theme of block recognition continues, as we see him rip inside against cut off blocks and effectively fight double teams. De Los Santos is the type of prospect that the more film I watch of him, the more I like him. As a ball carrier, we see him run behind his pads so much that it seems as though he has to catch himself so he does not trip over his feet at times. Balance is also part of his game, where would-be tacklers coming in low fail to trip him up. Ball security is something he appears to take pride in, chinning the ball high and tight. Rosato has also been used as a slot receiver, where we see him use his hands to make catches and run by using pressure cuts. Defensively he thwarts the quick game by jumping routes when covering the slot. Rosato is an outstanding form-fitting tackler who hits/wraps/drives/dumps defenders. For what it is worth, Cooper plays running back with a linebacker-type attitude and approach. His running style is that of a brawler-type that is physical, scrappy, rough, and aggressive - in everything he does - in a sort of backyard brawler. Cooper keeps fighting for yardage and positioning when he gets tied up. Bergen Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='910741' first='KJ' last='Hackney'] is a physical tackler who keeps his feet buzzing and keeps coming through contact. Appearing to spell on varsity as a sophomore, Hackney get off is a bit inconsistent, but he makes up for with pure hustle and will power. At the line of scrimmage, Hackney fights hard to create separation and space from offensive lineman so he can shed and pursue; at his best moments, we see him walk defenders backwards. A consistent winner of 1on1 matchups, Hackney's film will improve as it shows him squeezing and playing double teams. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/hudl
