A quality program, Ridgewood is home to many talented prospects. John DeVincenzo John DeVincenzo 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL/OL Ridgewood | 2027 State NJ is a defensive lineman who lives up to this billing. What makes DeVincenzo particularly effective off of the edge is that he can get hips hips around offensive tackles. On tape it DeVincenzo appears to be very tall, giving him long limbs to work with as well. Using that big body of his, we see the rising junior use his arms and hands to shed blocks, while also being physical with kickouts. He fights the reach well and finishes his tackles. Well coach and playing to his team’s scheme, DeVincenzo is best kept on the line as I though he struggled to move and change direction in open space.

From one edge player to another, John DeVincenzo John DeVincenzo 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL/OL Ridgewood | 2027 State NJ is a prospect that utilizes his hips very well when pass rushing and turning the corner. On film, this taller prospect is athletic enough to be asked to play in space. I thought that DeVincenzo uses his arms to shed extremely, including defeat reach blocks. There is a level of physicality to his game, too. We see DeVincenzo take on kick out blockers with an exceedingly high level of physicality. Schematically sound, some more upper body strength and mobility will aid DeVincenzo in his pursuit of ball carriers all across the field.

A massive presence on the defensive front, John DeVincenzo John DeVincenzo 6'3" | 215 lbs | DL/OL Ridgewood | 2027 State NJ demands your attention. Overshadowing most O-linemen he lines up against, John is a near impossible force to stop for a full four quarters. John requires a double team if you want to slow his pursuit of the quarterback down. And even then, he can fight his way through it. Getting to the quarterback 4 times in the first four games of the season, John is able to blow up plays and make the quarterback run for his life nearly every time they drop back. Not only does John bring the pressure to the pocket, but he is a tackling machine any time the runner takes it up the gut. With 22 tackles on the season, it’s best for opposing offenses to scheme away from John has he can bring some serious hurting to their backs. To top it all off, with the hard hits John delivers he has also forced a fumble on the season as well.
