Week 11 of the New Mexico High School football season was another exciting three days and nights of great action. District titles and playoff spots were on the line. Here is video and game recaps from games on Friday and Saturday.

Taos 27, Bernalillo 7

The Taos Tigers came into Friday night's road matchup against Bernalillo ranked No. 6 in Class 4A by MaxPreps. Taos scored on its first possession to take a 7-0 lead. Late in the first quarter, Bernalillo fumbled a punt return and Taos recovered. The Tigers took advantage of the short field and scored on a short rushing TD early in the 2nd quarter for a 14-0 lead. Later in the second quarter, the Tigers defense stopped Bernalillo on downs in Taos territory.

The Tigers connected on a long pass into the red zone and then scored on a slate into the middle of the end zone to make it 20-0 with 2-1/2 minutes left before halftime. Bernalillo scored early in the fourth quarter on a short rushing TD to make it 20-7 but Taos returned a punt for a TD and then intercepted a pass before running out the clock to stave off the Spartans. Taos improved to 6-4 overall, 6-1 in District 4A-1, finishing one game behind Bloomfield (9-1, 7-0) in the 4A-1 strandings. Bernalillo finished 6-4 overall, 3-4 in district.

Video 1: First Quarter

https://youtu.be/RtVUEUmjaXE?si=Q5Qch4raFgp1pwFp

Video 2: Second Quarter

https://youtu.be/-ArpOV7MaPs?si=tZ-5oXS3t8aukrp5

Video 3: Third Quarter

https://youtu.be/fC6zNgm8JVo?si=lbvmgCvRiqqOjT5Y

Video 4: Fourth Quarter

https://youtu.be/efY-8INMhRY?si=8-yI7k-QKruwVxlp

St. Michael's 40, Robertson 6

St. Michael's won its 30th straight game Saturday with a 40-6 victory over rival Robertson in Santa Fe. The Horsemen, who sealed the District 3A-2 crown, now own the third longest winning streak in state history behind only Gadsden (34 games, 1952-56) and Animas (69 games, 1985-90). But the win wasn't as easy as the final score indicates. St. Michael's led, 19-6, in the third period before scoring the final three touchdowns to pull away from the Cardinals. Horsemen QB [player_tooltip player_id='1600843' first='Kamal' last='Stith'] set a new school record for most touchdowns in a single season with 31. Two-way standout [player_tooltip player_id='1155019' first='Ryan' last='Hunt'] caught a pair of TD passes. [player_tooltip player_id='853063' first='Isaiah' last='Dominguez'] was, as always, a key sparkplug for the St. Michael's offense. The physical and aggressive Horsemen stymied the Robertson offense most of the afternoon.

Video 1: First Quarter (St. Michael's TD)

https://youtu.be/wKoD-t3EtWI?si=wbX9XBtJDK01aTgl

Video 2: Second Quarter (St. Michael's TD)

https://youtu.be/TDLvvfCMYko?si=zZcTHPXr1XW3pKDZ

Video 3: Third Quarter (Multiple TDs)

https://youtu.be/v4MkFUhrbew?si=u1CPHS-mwqRca7U2

Video 4: Fourth Quarter (St. Michael's TD)

https://youtu.be/okKd4hT290A?si=KzLE2ZXCQMvIQK1g

Additional Highlights

FOOTBALL: Piedra Vista beat Farmington 17-14 in a game that included an opening kickoff return for a touchdown and last second game-winning FG with four seconds left.
