No. 5 2027 Prospect Moving To Arizona

One of Prep Redzone's top 2027 wide receiver prospects is leaving New Mexico.

Six-foot-4 St. Pius X WR [player_tooltip player_id='1154956' first='Cayl' last='Cox-Liggins'] confirmed on social media a report from ArizonaVarsity.com, a web site devoted to covering school athletics in Arizona, that he will transfer to Queen Creek (AZ) High School and will compete for the Bulldogs in the 2026 season.

In a Tweet posted Monday evening, Cox-Liggins wrote: "I will be playing my senior year of football for Queen Creek High School. Go Dawgs!"

Queen Creek is a rapidly growing suburb of approximately 90,000 residents in Phoenix's expanding East Valley. QCHS competes in Class 6A, the highest classification in Arizona High School football.

Cox-Liggins, a freakish athlete who was recently offered by Eastern New Mexico, posted impressive numbers in three seasons with the St. Pius X varsity. He caught 166 passes for 2,725 yards and 25 touchdowns in 31 games.

Last season, he amassed a career high 65 receptions for 1,161 yards and 12 TD in helping the Sartans reach the Class 4A state championship game for the second straight year. He had the fifth highest receiving yardage total in the state.

While losing Cox-Liggins will hurt, St. Pius still has plenty of firepower on offense, starting with QB [player_tooltip player_id='1154948' first='Isaiah' last='Carpenter'], RB [player_tooltip player_id='1154954' first='Hershul' last='Olloway'], WR [player_tooltip player_id='1155012' first='Curtis' last='Flakes III'], WR [player_tooltip player_id='1613459' first='Ezra' last='Ocampo'] and WR [player_tooltip player_id='1613476' first='Christian' last='Morales'].

When the season begins in August, St. Pius X will be one of the favorites to claim the Class 4A crown in November.

I will be playing my senior year of football for Queen Creek High School.
