Chris Decker | TE | Sr | 6'3" 185-Pounds

Decker was a guy, who played both ways against the Garnets. Size wise, I like him as a WR, but he was elite as a TE for Somers. Decker on the defensive side of the ball, had an amazing first half, wreaking havoc in the backfield, and exploding from the left side of the Defense. On offense, he became a valuable blocker. Somers uses a mainly rushing attack, and Decker showed good hands, and strength in the blocking game. Most of his night goes unnoticed in a box score, but the Senior ATH, was a star for the Tuskers, and is a guy I wish had more time on the field.

RJ Peterson | OL | Sr | 6'4" 255-Pounds

Peterson, has been a brick wall for the Somers Line. The Tuskers had a solid first half, and controlled the pace, and the game due to their line, which created holes for the Option Attack. Peterson, displayed good hands, and showed good footwork. His size is one that warrants some additional weight, to fill out his frame, but he stood strong against the Rye Defense. I liked, how the Senior moved, and the Guard pushed his defenders, without holding, which allowed the run game to flourish. Peterson, is exactly why they tell you to thank your O-Line, and he should be thanked for his game against Rye.

[player_tooltip player_id='1345190' first='Nate' last='Mitchell'] | RB | Sr | 5'10" 175-Pounds

Mitchell, has been a solid back throughout his entire career for Somers, and it is a shame his career ended with a loss. The Senior back, has been splitting snaps, and it appeared as he was battling an injury most of the season. Mitchell, had a solid game carrying the football for the Tuskers. I liked the Seniors size, and he showed good footwork after the handoff. He slowed the game down in the backfield, and moved with the line, to find the gaps. I liked his burst, as he took off quickly and can reach his top speed with ease. He showed good strength through tackles.

[player_tooltip player_id='1206376' first='Dean' last='Palazzolo'] | WR | Sr | 5'9" 165-Pounds

Palazzolo had the MVP performance for the Tuskers in the game against Somers. In his first game against Rye this season, he had a quiet game having a few catches and some good blocks. In this matchup, he completely flipped the script. The Senior WR, was electric on Special Teams, and granted Somers good field position multiple times, with outstanding returns. He was a good route runner, and I like his hands, as they make catches feel effortless. Palazzolo, has elite speed, which flashed all night. He is a veteran leader for this Somers Squad, and he should be playing football at the next level.

Tristen Iglesias | QB | Jr | N/A

Iglesias had a lot to prove for the Tuskers. The Junior QB, his first time out against Rye, had a tough game, and both running and passing were hard to come by. This time out, Iglesias impressed me. The Junior QB, showed good poise in the pocket, and displayed a good IQ, using his legs when needed. I liked his arm, and he dropped a beautiful pass into the bread basket for a touchdown. On the ground, he had good speed, and showed good footwork, while making cute. He had good strength, while working through gaps, and I liked his ability to hold onto the ball through contact.
