PRZ AL Game of the Week: Auburn (9-2) vs. Daphne (9-2)

Welcome back! We're previewing a huge matchup between Auburn (9-2) and Daphne (9-2)   Both these teams have STACKED rosters, so we're discussing who we think everyone should look out for this week.   As always, check out these prospects' film below! You won't want to miss out on this group.   Let's dive in:   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">OFFENSE</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">AUBURN</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1068557' first='Cason' last='Myers'] has had a dominant debut season for Auburn this fall, dismantling defenses across the state.   “At 6'2 190, Myers is an impressive passer who can put the ball anywhere on the field. He has some serious arm talent- he can push the ball downfield, accurately lead and hit his WRs in stride, and has a careful understanding of his team's offense that allows him to keep the ball safe consistently.   It's even more impressive watching how well Myers maneuvers the pocket. He's great at avoiding pass rushers and keeps his eyes downfield to keep plays alive, consistently creating huge plays under pressure. Myers is also mobile and can create big plays with his legs if necessary- he always finds ways to keep the chains moving every snap and never puts the ball at risk.“   Myers is going up against a tough defense this week. I'm excited to see how he'll attack Daphne's secondary; they've done an impressive job defending against the pass this season.   Check out some of Myers' film below. He's a talented QB with a ton to offer at the next level.      [player_tooltip player_id='2047489' first='Antonio' last='Welch'] is a talented senior wideout who has been Auburn's top receiving option this season.   "Welch is explosive with the ball in his hands. He's quick, can cut and change his direction, and has the speed and acceleration to quickly turn upfield and find extra yards after the catch.   When you combine that with his ability to fly off the line of scrimmage and almost instantly gain separation from DBs, it makes him a tough WR to try and stop. Welch is great at getting open, can attack multiple parts of the field, and has a reliable set of hands he uses to haul in huge receptions. I've been really impressed with him this season."   Welch has found the endzone a ton this season. He's been one of Auburn's go-to guys in the passing game all year long, so we all need to look out for him this week. He could have a huge game.   Welch has put together some impressive tape over this season. Make sure you watch below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">DAPHNE</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1645040' first='Christian' last='Segar'] is a dominant junior QB who's had a breakout season for Daphne this fall.   "Segar is a talented QB who takes care of the ball, goes through his progressions, and finds ways to move the chains every snap. Segar has some seriously impressive arm strength and can rip the ball through tight windows/lead his WRs deep downfield for huge gains.   I think what impressed me most about Segar was how well he could attack every level of the field. He throws a really nice deep ball, but can also deliver some strikes in the shorter/intermediate levels of the field to move the chains- no matter where his WRs are, you can count on Segar to get the ball there."   Segar has played at a high level this season and has connected with his WRs on some beautiful passes all year long. He'll be going up against some talented corners in Auburn's secondary this week; it'll be fun to watch.   Make sure you watch some of Segar's tape below. He's been terrific this season.      [player_tooltip player_id='1642544' first='Labrayln' last='Williams'] has emerged as one of the top ATHs in the state's 2028 class this season.   "Williams is incredibly quick and has great vision he uses to dominate when the ball is in his hands- it doesn't matter if he's coming out of the backfield, running out wide, or returning kicks, Williams does an excellent job navigating the open field to carve up defenses for huge gains.   I'm seriously impressed with Williams's skill out wide- he's a talented route runner who can route up DBs for huge catches downfield, while also creating explosive plays off of shorter routes with how he uses his speed and elusiveness after the catch."   Williams is coming off a ridiculous performance last weekend, where he found the endzone five times. He is absolutely a player to watch going into this week. I'm really excited to see him compete against Auburn's DBs- there will be some must-watch battles out wide.   Check out some of Williams' film below:     <h1 class="wp-block-heading">DEFENSE</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">AUBURN</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1645202' first='Greg' last='Williams'] is a dominant LB who has been one of Auburn's leading tacklers this season.   "Williams is excellent in pursuit- he is great at tracking and hustling to the ball regardless of where he lined up pre-snap, especially against the run. When defending the run, Williams does an excellent job filling in rushing lanes, fighting off blockers, and taking down the ball carrier right at or behind the line of scrimmage.   On passing downs, Williams brings the same level of impact- he's reliable out in coverage, doesn't allow for easy catches, and can track and make plays on the ball using his hands."   Williams can attack the run and defend the pass as well as anyone. He's a versatile linebacker we'll have to keep track of in this matchup. He's bound to make some big plays.   Be sure to check out some of Williams' tape below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1622130' first='Brandon' last='McGhee'] is a lockdown DB who's provided great production in Auburn's secondary this season.   "Right off the bat, it's clear that McGhee is extremely gifted in coverage, especially zone. He has great instincts, is quick to react, and can track the ball and adjust himself to create huge plays on the ball. McGhee is a ball hawk who excels at finding and securing his hands on the ball, frequently hauling in impressive interceptions for his defense last year.   Against the run, McGhee is just as dominant. He can make huge plays down by the line of scrimmage, but is even more impressive in the open field- consistently taking great pursuit angles and wrapping up to prevent should-be scoring plays."   McGhee has consistently locked up WRs and made game-changing plays out in the secondary over the last two seasons. He'll be going up against a talented group of pass catchers this week- we're all going to have to keep track of him.   Check out some of his film below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">DAPHNE</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1678211' first='Malique' last='Franklin'] is a talented DL who's made a ton of huge plays for Daphne's defense this season.   "Franklin has terrific speed off the line of scrimmage. He explodes off the snap, uses his violent hands to fly by linemen, and makes a ton of stops in pursuit. When you combine his speed with his power and leverage, it makes him virtually unblockable at the line of scrimmage.   I'm really impressed with Franklin's pass rush. He's constantly generating pressure or placing hits on the QB, making life difficult every single rep. He's an all-around well-rounded defender with a huge rest of the year ahead."   I've been seriously impressed with Franklin. He's become a dominant pass rusher on Daphne's defensive front this season. Auburn's offensive line will have a big task ahead trying to slow him down this week. He can heat up and take down the quarterback on any down.   Make sure you watch some of Franklin's film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1212638' first='Edrick' last='Williams'] has been a terrific safety in Daphne's secondary over the last two seasons.   “Williams is an every-down playmaker who flies around the field to provide terrific coverage and run support. Williams plays with a ton of speed and can easily cover lots of ground to make some impressive plays.   Williams really impresses me with how well he plays single high. He's patient, tracks the ball, and never lets anybody get behind him for explosive plays. Williams is also reliable against the run- he consistently flies downhill to fight off blocks and wraps up the ball carrier down near the line of scrimmage for little to no gain.”   Auburn will have to watch out for Williams every snap. He's a versatile defender who consistently creates huge stops everywhere on the field. He could be a big difference maker in this matchup.
