5. Rye (Last Week, 6)

The Garnets move up one slot in the Rankings to #5. The Garnets moved onto the Semi-Finals, of the Section One playoffs last week as they took down Brewster 44-19. The wind was atrocious, and throwing the ball would be a real challenge. Despite this, the Garnets offense led by [player_tooltip player_id='1229592' first='Carson' last='Miller'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1529592' first='Henry' last='Shoemaker'], combined for four passing touchdowns, and make the case for one of the top teams in the state. The Garnets will face Eastchester this weekend, and have a high chance to rematch against Somers in the Sectional Final, and a potential state Championship.

4. St. Anthony's (Last Week, 5)

The Friars also move up one slot. St. Anthony's opens the playoffs this weekend in the Catholic League, with a matchup against Cardinal Hayes. With the winner facing Iona Prep. The Friars have a 42-14 win against Cardinal Hayes this season, and look to make it two straight wins in 2025. The Friars have four loses on the season, with two coming from Don Bosco, and McDonough, who are both out of state powerhouses in NJ, and MD. The other two loses came from Catholic League foes, we will see in the top three of the Power Rankings. The Friars are hungry for a Championship and with matchups against teams they have lost to this season, revenge could be sweet for the Friars.

3. Iona Prep (Last Week, 4)

The Gaels earned themselves a first round Bye, after a big win against Archbishop Stepinac. Iona Prep, has one loss on the season, at the hands of Monsignor Farrell. Since that loss, the Gaels have a fire in them, and have look unstoppable. With a bye this week, I expect the Gaels to finish at the #3 spot in the Power Rankings, and they have a big week of preparing, as a matchup with St. Anthony's is likely in the works after the bye week. The Gaels have one of the most powerful rosters, full with College talent. Don't be surprised if you see them hoisting a trophy at the end of the season.

2. St. Francis (Last Week, 2)

The Red Raiders hailing all the way from Buffalo stay in the number two slot of the rankings. St. Francis had their biggest test of the season this past week versus Canisius, and handled it perfectly. The Buffalo squad picked up a 29-14 win, with [player_tooltip player_id='501394' first='Trent' last='Buttles'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1202404' first='Tyrone' last='Clark Jr'], exploding for major gains on the ground. The Red Raiders clinched the playoffs, and the top seed in the Monsignor Martin League, and have a matchup approaching against Bishop Timon St. Jude. I belike the Red Raiders will march through there playoffs, and should secure the League Championship and take the throne as the top seed in WNY.

1. Monsignor Farrell (Last Week, 1)

The top team in the state once again is Monsignor Farrell. The Lions have one loss on the season, at the hands of Delbarton. Despite the loss, the Lions have the most impressive win in the state, with a 28-21 win over Iona Prep just a few weeks ago. To end the season, Coach RDP led his squad to a 38-14 win against Cardinal Hayes, and secured the top spot in there Catholic League Playoffs. This honor comes with a bye week this week, and a match against Archbishop Stepinac, or Chaminade next week at home. This Lions squad is unstoppable, and I only see one team with a chance to beat them. I fully expect Monsignor Farrell to make the Catholic League Championship, and rematch against Iona Prep, in what will be a must watch football game.
