It seemed like this one had been slipping away from the Big 12 program for a while. Despite being committed and even taking visits out west the South Elgin star continued to gain momentum on the recruiting trail picking up offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn, North Carolina, and Miami. It was only a matter of time when he had not shut it down that he would flip especially considering Colorado's 3-7 record in a top heavy Big 12. He announced he would visit the U and it was over just like that. Tuesday the tight end committed to Miami.

What are the Hurricanes getting? Mueller has all the physical tools you can ask for in a tight end. Size, strength, and athleticism are plus across the board. He is still learning the game as he didn't even play until his junior year while the athleticism shined on the hardwood. This past season for South Elgin he was a monster both as a pass catcher and wildcat QB. He showed growth as a route runner and more fluid receiver. As a runner he is so tough to bring down in the open field which is why he was a super effective wildcat QB scoring a school record 30 touchdowns going for 1,325 all purpose yards this season.

Mueller is part of the stellar in-state tight end recruiting class which includes [player_tooltip player_id='801700' first='Mack' last='Sutter'] (Dunlap) going to Alabama and [player_tooltip player_id='212319' first='JC' last='Anderson'] (Mt. Zion) headed for Ole Miss.
