Film Study: 2025-26 Season Standouts

Some of the players who stood out during the 2025–2026 season are highlighted here as the year came to a close. Look at the players who impressed and showed significant changes in their skill sets throughout the season.    Luca DiCicco finished up his senior campaign at center and offensive guard with force. His consistent ability to anchor against pressure and stall defenders from getting upfield was evident all season. Conversely, DiCicco's feet and flexibility were major contributors in A sided gap runs drawn his way. Turning linemen in a quick flip of the hip so the ball carrier had a lane to burst into was a big standout in a playoff matchup vs. Xavier. A lot of strength, drive, and discipline that you want up front!       Jayden Peter was an absolute standout to watch in person at Rush-Henrietta this season. The ability at the DE position to come off the LOS with speed, urgency, and purpose are big-time traits. Continuously chasing after the QB or ball carrier to make TFLs would flash. Equally important, he is the type of player that will chase ball carriers down from behind often. Peter flies all over the field on tape and loves contact. Brute strength was additionally shown at the TE position when making blocks at the edge. It would transition over when shedding off blockings quickly as a defender. Peter is a talented junior with physical tools, high effort, and a bright future ahead.      [player_tooltip player_id='1345188' first='Amari' last='Marianetti-Smith'] was a major standout at the RB and OLB positions for Spencerport. Nevertheless, this is a physical RB that produced 842 rushing yards on 165 rushes and scored 11 TDs! The discipline to show up at OLB with 70 total tackles, 2 TFLs, and 2 sacks was remarkable as well. That said, when operating at the RB spot, Marianetti-Smith has a great ability to be a north-south runner and then bounce a run to the outside for a huge gain. Leg drive and contact balance were major benefactors in his ability to shed off tackles. Moreover, Marianetti-Smith has standout eyes at both the RB position to see the smallest lanes and the LB position to track down ball carriers. The physicality to make precise tackles with athleticism was an electric trait. Though Pusateri and Pittsford fell short of the AA Championship, he put up a standout campaign. Straightaway, he ended the year with 1520 passing yards, a 60% completion pct, 12 passing TDs, 240 rushing yards, and 5 rushing TDs. The ability to use his legs to extend plays was a major point on film. No doubt, Pusateri has the speed to gain yardage and get into the end zone when green grass presents itself. Given these points, Pusateri does have the arm talent to make throws down the field to his receivers. Otherwise, he uses different arm angles, off-platform throws, and quick throws in the pocket with accuracy. A continuation of development in going through his reads will only make him a better passer at the next level.        The young [player_tooltip player_id='1231010' first='Bryce' last='Mack'] is a young ILB and OLB that put together a standout tape for a freshman at Archbishop Stepinac High School. The ability to come through the LOS to make standouts tackles with clean form would flash. Altogether, Mack has the athletic traits to chase down ball carriers. As a result, there is solid closing quickness and speed.
