His ability to play as a nickel safety is impressive, as he is good at playing in space. In his film, you see someone who is a good athlete who also understands how to play the position. He does a nice job of reading the play and coming upfield and making the tackle in the open field. He is also good at dropping in coverage and making plays as a pass defender. His ability to cover wide receivers one-on-one is impressive. He is truly a lockdown cornerback who covers wide receivers well when matched up. He also has good ball skills and can get his hands on the ball when thrown near him. Chance also does an excellent job of making tackles against ball carriers in the open field. He also shows good speed and athleticism by breaking tackles. Then, as a defensive back, he has excellent coverage skills. His ability to cover and get his hands on balls thrown in his direction is good. He also played on special teams and showed a good ability to tackle in the open field. He has good size (6'2") and athleticism. As a wide receiver, he shows a good ability to catch the ball in traffic between defenders. He runs excellent routes and catches the ball well. Weaver does not have any defensive back film that I saw, but the talent is there to play as a safety or as a cornerback.
