<p>The IHSA State Championships kicked off on Friday with the 1A – 3A champions being claimed in the morning through late afternoon. Here is a look at who took home the hardware!</p>

<p><strong>1A</strong></p>

<p><strong>Lena Winslow – 58<br>Brown County – 13</strong></p>

<p>Lena-Winslow jumped out early and never looked back. They rode their offensive line and 1-2 punch in the backfield to the title! [player_tooltip player_id='1585199' first='Aiden' last='Wild'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1585285' first='Alec' last='Schlichting'] were nothing short of dominant as Wild carried it 22 times for 170 yards and an insane 5 touchdowns. The homerun back Schlichting had 9 carries for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. Junior Ryder Schultz even got into it for 73 yards including a long of 55 yards and a score. They only passed the ball one time the entire game, but ran for 448 total yards.</p>

<p><strong>2A</strong></p>

<p><strong>Wilmington – 42<br>Maroa-Forsyth – 6</strong></p>

<p>Another W for the favorite as Wilmington was dominant winning this one going away getting separation in a four touchdown second quarter. Wilmington didn't pass the ball one time the entire game, but they racked up 401 yards on the ground averaging 9.2 yards per carry as a group. They were led by Ryan Kettman with 11 carries for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. Fellow senior Billy Moore had 105 yards on just 6 carries along with a trip to the endzone. Wilmington was dominant against the run as Maroa-Forsyth only gained 8 yards the entire game. Declan Moran and Brysen Meents led the way defensively. For Maroa-Forsyth quarterback Ryne Sheppard was 18/35 for 191 yards, 1 interception, and 1 interception.</p>

<p><strong>Byron – 56<br>Tolono Unity – 50</strong></p>

<p>This game had a little more juice to it as both offenses were able to go up and down the field in an absolute shootout! After scoring a touchdown with two minutes to go Tolono Unity recovered an onside kick and went right down the field, but Byron's offensive star Caden Considine stepped up on defense batting down a wheel route to win the game in the endzone. Considine was a monster in this game going for 367 yards on the ground along with 3 touchdowns while he also caught a pair of passes for 63 yards. Their junior quarterback Andrew Talbert who is a North Carolina 2027 baseball commit was 4/5 passing for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the other side Tolono Unity quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1001161' first='Dane' last='Eisenmenger'] put on a show throwing 42/65 for 545 yards and 7 touchdowns. He had three receivers with 100+ yards and at least a pair of touchdowns in Tyler Henry, [player_tooltip player_id='1472518' first='Tre' last='Hoggard'], and Mason O'Neill.</p>
