Week 8 Game Balls

There were a number of players from the Elkton offense that could have gotten the nod here but I am giving the game ball Jamir. He carried the rock all game long for them racking up 150yds and 2 TDs. He contribute on the defensive side as well, consistently making plays in coverage. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He not only carried the ball for 2 scores but made huge impact plays to keep Elkton in control of the game. Every time they needed to get a first on 3rd down or needed a big play to keep momentum going, Jamir was given the ball and made that play. Jamir is a shifty change of pace RB with good wiggle, able to avoid tacklers and get into open grass. He runs hard and plays bigger than his size. Will fight for yards and power through arm tackles. For the game he passed for over 300 yds and 5 TDs while also rushing for 172 yds and 1 TD. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A true dual threat QB, he is able to pick up big chunks of yards with legs and is excellent in the QB read / RPO game. Trysten possesses nice arm strength, able to push the ball vertically down the field. He put that on display all game long with multiple deep balls down the seam for scores. A capable thrower on the run as well, he can hit his target with accuracy while being chased. An impact player on both sides of the ball, he makes highlight plays at WR &amp; CB and has a ton of potential as a prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This past weekend in CR's game vs. Sussex Central Denzel had 190 receiving yds on 9 receptions for a 21yd avg. per catch to go along with 2 receiving TDs. His first score came 20yd skinny post up the seam, beating 3 defenders over the top and making a spectacular one handed grab for the score. His next TD reception was from a wheel route off motion where he beat his defender with his speed and out ran the rest of the defense for a 75yd score. Denzel can get it done on defense from the CB spot as well. Able to line up out wide or in the slot, and able to play lock down man coverage while getting his hands on passes for lots of PBUs. That adds on to a strong season he is putting together, currently sitting 4th in the state in total passing yards with 2,053 and 2nd in the state with 27 passing TDs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the game against Rockville Dylan over 300yds and 4 TDs and every one of them was needed for that 1 point victory. Each of this TD passes in the game he threw with excellent timing and anticipation. Putting nice touch and outstanding accuracy making for a catchable ball and allowing his playmakers to finish the play. Dylan also shows off nice velocity and zip on his passes. On one play he threw a perfect dart between multiple defenders to hit his receiver in stride for a big gain. Dylan does a great job seeing the field, getting the ball to multiple receivers all over the field. Capable of extending the play and making good passes on the run as well. While they came up short in their 2nd half comeback, Dominic was big reason for the comeback even having a chance. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">On the first drive of the second half, he took a Texas route 40yds up the the middle of the field, out running the defense for Seed's first score of the game. On defense, Dominic was racking up tackle after tackle. Getting sideline to sideline, chasing down ball carrier and attacking up field. On Elkton's first drive of the game he made drive stopping tackle in the backfield on 3rd and short to force the punt. What I noticed from Dominic's play is he brings the intensity, leadership and competitive edge to the team. A tough, physical, high motor player that plays with that want to. He was making plays all game long and was responsible for both of Chopticon's scores on the day. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jaiden finished the game with 165 receiving yards on 8 receptions, for an avg per catch of over 20yds. He also hauled in 2 touchdown receptions, the first of which was a 48yd bomb where he tracked the ball over his shoulder and avoided the DB to take it in for the score. His 2nd TD came when Chopticon was in the red zone, Jaiden found space in the back of the end zone and went up and got the ball out the air over the defender. A sure handed WR, Jaiden has natural hands. He attacks the ball in the air, catches it away from his body, while having excellent body control and positional awareness. He is able to go up and make the spectacular catch. Showing good leaping ability and body control, able to focus on making the catch while also getting his feet down in bounds. He shows some nice twitch and quick COD in his hips. While also displaying nice burst and speed down the field to get himself open over the top.
