Waupun vs Berlin: Top Prospects to Know

Two dynamic offense squared off in a humongous South Central Conference showdown. From bowling ball running backs to mismatch wide receivers to athletic playmakers. This game had it all. Check out who impressed from this matchup.    Trent is an extremely impressive lineman for Berlin. His 6 '2 290-pound frame makes him a dominate offensive tackle. His is agile and quick enough to pull down the line and blow up the defenders. He has really good technique and toughness that you want in a lineman. Trent can get low and out leverage his opposing defender while maintaining his balance to stay upright. Trent played a huge part in Berlin's 415 total rushing yards on Friday while also keeping his QB untouched in the passing game. College Coaches need to get this huge offensive lineman on their radar.     Hayden is mismatch player wherever position you play him at. For his size he is very agile and quick while on his feet. He can overpower the opposing defender in the run game but then run clean routes in the passing game. In the endzone, Hayden is a freak athlete, where he can go up and get the ball in the air. He is a mismatch on defense had causes disruption on countless plays. Hayden is committed to Augustana University to continue his football career, and I think he will be an instant impact player in year 1.     I wrote about Carter earlier before the season started and I was blown away by how good he was in person. While Carter has taken the responsibility of playing QB for Berlin this year, he still can do a plethora of different things to make a huge impact for his team. He has elite speed and can patiently find a hole and bust through for long gains. He has command of the offense and is an improving passer who has some nice touch on his deep ball. On defense, Carter is a centerfielder at safety and can swarm to the ball. He had 4 rushing touchdowns, 1 passing touchdown and 1 pick six on the night. Carter is a huge Senior steal to know.     Jakob is a bulldog at running back. He plays with such physical force that helps him plow through tackle attempts. He runs low to the ground and is always pumping his knees to get extra yards. His toughness and balance help him break ankle tackles and keeps him upright. Jakob has some sneaky speed to go along with his 215-pound frame. He was the engine for the Berlin offense and accumulated 193 rushing yards 3 touchdowns. Jakob would be a highly impactful player for many college programs.     While Berlin has many other weapons on their offense who garner attention, Zander does lots of the dirty work for the Indians. He has the attitude you want in a running back where he sustains his blocks and opens up a lot of holes for his teammates. Zander has the awareness to find a defender to pummel, and he is always attacking until the whistle blows. He is also dangerous in the passing game where he can scamper downfield and haul in deep passes. Zander is a sophomore to keep an eye out for over the next 3 years.     Owen was as good as advertised on Friday night. In wrote about Owen earlier this season and seeing him in person was quite jaw dropping. He is an active defender on defense who moves around the LOS and causes disruption. He lines up as an edge rusher and even got pushed to the inside. Owen was holding his own everywhere you put him at. His long wingspan helps him out leverage opponents and makes him a weapon on offense at tight end. He is a tough blocker who also can be a threat over the middle in the passing game. Owen proved to me once again that he is one of the top sophomores in the state     Logan showed off his pure athleticism and top tear receiving ability on Friday night. The dynamic duo of Beahm and Logan could not be slowed down for too long. In the second half, Logan really came alive in the passing game. He is about as a complete receiver as you could ask for. Sturdy hands, crisp routes, toughness, and elite speed; Logan has some many qualities that you want in a receiver. He unique size and speed helped him at times race past the secondary as Logan had two long touchdowns. Logan is an uncommitted gem and could be an instant impact receiver for many college programs.     While Berlin really limited Waupun's passing game, Chase still had some needle like throws on Friday night. He stands tall in the pocket and rarely panics if the defense his closing down on him. Chase steps up in the pocket well and can deliver accurate balls in the middle or down the field. He throws a pretty deep ball that floats right over the secondary and it is placed where only his receiver can go get it. Chase tossed two deep touchdowns vs Berlin and has the size and intelligence that you want in a college quarterback.     Grahm is an absolute weapon for Waupun. He is extremely quick on his feet and can change his direction with his sudden movements. Offensively, Grahm has the speed and burst to score a touchdown on any given play. This could be a run or a pass. Simply put, Grahm is dangerous when the ball is on his hands. Berlin was kicking the ball away from him on special teams, but the couple times Grahm got a chance to return a kick he would make the most of them for large gains down the field. He is another Senior steal for the Warriors and could definitely be a playmaker for many College programs.
