Tuesday Two-Way Players

The season has flown by and many players in the state are having dominate seasons. For some of these players, they are dominating on both sides of the ball. Here are ten more STUDS who are impacting the game on offense and defense in a big way.    Dominic is one of the most exciting athletes to watch this year. He is a dominant wide receiver on offense. Dominic might be one of the fastest players on film. He is quick in and out of his cuts as a route runner and can adjust to high throws or back shoulder throws. Dominic can be unguardable on offense as he has 479 receiving yards, and 6 touchdowns prove that fact. On defense, he has the ball skills to blanket receivers throughout their entire route. He is also very physical and can peanut punch the ball out of the offensive player's grasp. Dominic is a college ready athlete and has helped his team start out 6-0.     You want to talk about a dominant two-way force? Look no further than Adreyan. He is a physically gifted edge rusher who has the size and speed at times be virtually unblockable. His biggest strength is power. He will simply overpower offensive lineman when attacking the QB. The power comes into play on offense where he is playing left tackle; a new position for him. Adreyan's athleticism and technique make him a superb lineman. Adreyan is a difference maker on a loaded Racine St. Catherine's squad.     Cash is an all-around playmaker on the gridiron. He is a versatile quarterback on offense. Cash is money with his short and intermediate throws. He has some zip to his ball and he hits his receivers right in their chests. He is also a tough runner on the ground and he is used in designed runs or by scrambling. On defense, Cash uses his athleticism to fly up from his safety position to blow up plays. He plays at a different speed and gear than most other players. Cash was a breakout sophomore and unfortunately due to an injury his season came to end last Friday but he is still a player to watch out over the next two years.     Caden is an athletic monster out of Grantsburg. He towers over opponents standing at 6 ‘7 and has a large frame to engulf passes thrown his way on offense. He uses his mismatch height to snatch catches over smaller defenders. Caden is also a tone setting blocker at tight end where he uses his strength to pave a way in the run game. On defense he sets the edge and holds down his side against the run. When Caden rushes the QB, his massive body disrupts the QBs throw and vision. The senior has racked up more and more offers and has helped his team start off 6-0 this year.     Waylon is a big play machine for Aquinas. You line him up at wide receiver and he can torch you deep or across the middle of the field to move the chains. His athleticism is displayed in all facets of the game including kick returns where he averages 37.9 yards on 8 kick returns on the season. Waylon is a speedy linebacker who can attack the quarterback in the pocket. He is continuously in the backfield pressuring the QB. Waylon is an ever-improving senior athlete to know for a loaded Blugolds team.     Gabe is a multipurpose athlete for the Riverhawks. You line him up at any position and he can make an impact. On offense, Gabe has played running back, receiver, and quarterback. His speed and athleticism have helped him be successful at any of those positions. He is up to 585 total yards and 5 touchdowns this season. On defense he is a textbook tackler from his safety position. Gabe can read and react to play quickly, and he flies up from the secondary to tackle the ball carrier. Gage is a junior athlete to know out of the La Crosse Area.     Jackson has a knack for the ball. On offense he is a home run hitter. That can be on deep balls downfield where he tracks the ball well and hauls the ball in with his reliable hands or taking a screen pass and where he can maneuver around defenders to move the sticks. Jackson has a team leading 347 yards this year. On defense, he has the technique and instincts at his defensive back spot to be an effective player. He has elite ball skills in the secondary and is quick enough to jump routes on the fly. Jackson has the upside needed to be a college level athlete     Shawn is a two-way, jack-of-all trades player this year. His film is electrifying, and he is always around the ball. Shawn can do a variety of things on defense at his safety spot. He can cover downfield with poise and technique as he has 2 pass deflections and three interceptions this year. He can also go up to the front seven and stick it to the ball carrier. On offense, he can rush out of the backfield with ease and throw some punishing blocks on the defense. Shawn really does it all for Fennimore and is a Senior sleeper that you need to know.     Mason is a massive thumper out of Northwestern. He is a mauler at his fullback position on offense. In most cases, Mason is the lead blocker for their dangerous rushing attack. He has very broad shoulders and his eyes are always looking for someone to hit. On defense he is a stout defensive tackle. He is quicker than most offensive lineman and he can penetrate past the blockers. He has an explosive first step and is strong enough to push back the lineman to create a mess at the LOS. Mason is a rising junior prospect for a really good Tiger squad.     Donovan is a two-way technician for Roncalli. His footwork is incredibly sound as a guard. He rarely gets caught out of position or off balance. His pass sets are great as he can fight off the opposing defensive lineman. Donovan for his size is very agile and can stay with faster defenders on running or passing downs. The agility also comes into play on defense where he is very mobile and at times is running down faster players. Donovan is only a junior this year and he is getting better and better each game.
