Senior Spotlight: Howard HS of Technology

Prep Redzone takes a mid-season look at five seniors from Howard HS of Technology in Delaware.    Farrell's film shows him as a receiver with strong acceleration and elusiveness. His highlights have explosive plays on whip and swing routes, with him turning short passes into touchdowns  . His punt return from the 39 shows great vision and creativity as he spins and reverses field for a big gain  . His strengths are burst, YAC ability, sharp cuts, and return impact. I'd like to see more film of him catching passes on intermediate-to-deep routes.     Echevarria shows good instincts and quick reactions, diagnosing plays quickly. He's disciplined on the edge, stays home on RPOs, and makes plays behind the line. Echevarria flashes burst as a pass rusher and moves well in coverage, transitioning smoothly out of his backpedal. He's also tough at the point of attack, shedding blocks and making solid tackles. Echevarria's biggest issue as a prospect is that he lacks size for the defensive position he plays. He's also a cornerback, but most of his film is of him at the linebacker position.     Howard is defensive end with power, quickness, and versatility. He blocks a punt off the edge and later beats a tackle for a sack. Howard lines up at multiple spots, including defensive end, tackle, and middle linebacker, and plays with good awareness. He shows burst off the line, strong hands, and discipline setting the edge. He also forces turnovers with effort and physicality. His film could use more reps showing examples of him finishing plays in space and using more pass rush moves.     Weightman is safety with good range, physicality, and instincts. He diagnoses run plays quickly, takes strong pursuit angles, and makes reliable open-field tackles  . Weightman closes downhill well on screens and isn't afraid to deliver hits in coverage. He can improve his initial reads, add strength, and show more deep coverage reps to highlight his ball skills.     Stewart-Caceres is rated as an offensive lineman but this article, I'll focus on him as a defensive lineman. He is a defensive tackle who plays with strength, discipline, and effort. On one play, he shows power and quickness by slanting inside between the tackle and guard to make a tackle for loss. In his highlights, he consistently holds the edge on run plays. Stewart-Caceres sheds blocks effectively, fights through double teams, and maintains good containment without getting fooled by misdirection. His film, however, focuses mostly on run defense with limited pass-rush reps. Would like to see more of those types of plays, towards the beginning of his highlights, in his season-ending reel.
