Howard is defensive end with power, quickness, and versatility. He blocks a punt off the edge and later beats a tackle for a sack. Howard lines up at multiple spots, including defensive end, tackle, and middle linebacker, and plays with good awareness. He shows burst off the line, strong hands, and discipline setting the edge. He also forces turnovers with effort and physicality. His film could use more reps showing examples of him finishing plays in space and using more pass rush moves.

Overview: Thompson is a highly productive defensive end with a lot of energy. He tends to line up on or outside of the tackle. As soon as the ball is snapped, Thompson wins with the pop in his hands and his ability to locate the football.. His long arms help him stack and shed blockers or simply fight his way into the backfield. He moves well going sideline-to-sideline in pursuit. Thompson plays some offensive line, but he projects as a strong-side d-end in a 3 or 4-man front.

While the game against Hodgson didn’t go Howard Tech’s way, Nasir had a great showing on the field. The Junior D-lineman put in work on the day racking up 3 sacks and added another TFL as well.

Nasir is a defensive end with good HT at 6’3″ and nice length in his wingspan. With a lean frame and good natural bend, he has a skill set to cause problems for Oline this fall. Nasir is able to fire out low off the snap and get under the tackle to bend the edge and get to the QB. He plays on his toes and should the ability to re-direct and chase down ball carries. With good size and athleticism, Nasir just needs to continue to fill out his frame with more bulk/muscle and he will be getting some attention from colleges next spring for sure.
