Tigard @ #1 Lake Oswego (-40.5)

The Tigers have some good athletes, but they are still young with the loss to Sherwood speaking to where they are at. The Lakers feature numerous D1 athletes with a D capable of pitching a shutout each week. Expect this to be over by half.

#5 Lakeridge @ #2 West Linn (-8)

If the Pacers are going to take that next step, they will need a win against the likes of West Linn or Lake O. They have the talent to beat anybody, but how many times has that been said. It's now or never if you are Lakeridge. The Lions have played as well as anybody in the NW with a bunch of young guys. I expect this to be a game which isn't decided until the 4th quarter.

Reynolds @ #3 Central Catholic (-45)

CC will have a chance to get healthy this week if they need to rest anybody. They have tough conference games coming up with Nelson and even Sandy, so expect the backups to play a lot.

(-34) #4 Tualatin @ Oregon City

The T-Wolves put up 24 points last week against a Lake O team that shutout #3 Central Catholic. They are young but loaded with Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1609595' first='Iden' last='Rule'] and injured junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='937241' first='Cole' last='Hachmeister'] giving them one of the best 1-2 punches anywhere in the West. [player_tooltip player_id='1242623' first='Cavan' last='Rogers'] is the real deal for OC, but they have continued to get blasted when playing good teams, as noted with the 35-0 loss to #8 Mountainside and 62-20 loss last week to #5 Lakeridge.

(-17.5) #6 Nelson @ #11 Sandy

This has the potential of being a close ball game as you can expect both communities to show up in mass. Nelson has three quality wins against top 10 teams in Lakeridge, Mountainside, and Newberg. Sandy has battled and kept games close but doesn't have those types of wins. If Nelson is the real deal, they will be able to put the Pio's away.

North Medford @ #7 Willamette (-20)

The Black Tornado are a very decent 0-5 team, losing by a TD to #12 West Salem and 17-6 to 2x reigning 5A state champ Wilsonville last week. Willamette has a high-profile roster with numerous D1 athletes, but they haven't buried opponents yet. This will be another telling game.

(-50) #8 Mountainside @ Southridge

You have to feel good if you are Mountainside heading into the Metro League title game against Jesuit next week. This will be somewhat of a bye week against Southridge. The Skyhawks used to be one of the most dominant programs in the entire NW and it's super unfortunate to see how far they have fallen.

Beaverton @ #9 Jesuit (-30.5)

The Beavers have been playing relatively well at (4-1) although it's been against weak competition. If they could hang around with Jesuit that would say a lot. Regardless [player_tooltip player_id='769925' first='Oliver' last='Luebkert'] is the real deal. The Crusaders are a top 10 team that should battle for a Metro title next week in a close contest versus Mountainside.

(46.5) #10 Newberg @ McMinnville

Newberg is a good football team with respectable hard-fought losses to #1 Lake O and #6 Nelson. This will be over after Q1.

(-10) #12 West Salem @ North Salem

This could be a trip up game for the Titans. Even though Sheldon is down, North beating them 21-14 in Eugene is unprecedented. West Salem sits at 4-1 and it will be important for them to show up as this is a statement game for both programs.

(-43.5) #13 Sherwood @ Century

The Bowmen have had a couple close wins against decent teams two weeks in a row with the 35-31 victory over Tigard and 12-10-win over #15 Glencoe. It speaks to the program.

(-3.5) #14 Sunset @ Westview

The winner of this game is likely the Metro #3 seed. Sunset got drilled by Mountainside 56-20 last week and Westview lost 35-7 to Jesuit. The Wildcats got a 35-28 OT win last year and there is never any love lost between the two programs.

(-6.5) #15 Glencoe @ Liberty

Coach Ian Reynoso has done an outstanding job with the Glencoe program, losing 12-10 to consistent conference champion Sherwood last week. Liberty is decent with both teams sitting at (4-1). I like the Crimson Tide to win a close one and be 6-1 playing Newberg.
