Mahoney has made his presence felt as a sophomore on the state's top team in 4A. He'd recorded 15.0 tackles, 10 of which were of the solo variety, and two interceptions through the Saints' first five games. The University of Iowa took notice, playing host to him on a recruiting visit for the Indiana game. A four-sport athlete, Mahoney brings speed and agility to the gridiron. His early-season highlights on Hudl also reveal a prospect with keen instincts for the secondary. He recognizes tendencies during pre-snap reads and reacts well to what the offense shows once the action is underway. Mahoney is one to watch moving forward.

Despite big hits absorbed through graduation losses, defending state champion North Polk kept up a high level of play in 2025. That occurred thanks to returnees and new guys raising their levels of play. Perhaps nobody has taken a bigger step forward than Hauser. The junior has consistently been one of the Comets' top performers this fall. When watching him operate during highlights on his Hudl page, we witness a versatile O-Lineman finding success on the inside and outside. Quickness and athleticism allow for it. Hauser is technically sound, operating with leverage and keen hand-placement. He's physical and plays through the whistle. Hauser should be on the radar of plenty of schools on the next level.

Dee has a desire to play basketball on the next level. He's shown that ability in averaging 29 points and earning all-state honors last season. Perhaps college football coaches could convince him to give their sport a try. He's displaying excellent potential as a receiver this fall with 30 catches for 524 yards and 11 touchdowns through the first five games of his senior season. Dee is a big target with speed and athleticism, as we can see when watching his most recent highlights. His long arms and leaping ability make him a difficult matchup for most defensive backs. Dee also flashes potential in the secondary, delivering 10 solo tackles and 3.0 stops for loss in five games.

On on offense with a lot of mouths to feed in the passing game, Gray has found a role in the Bulldog attack. The junior tight end caught six passes for 82 yards and a touchdown through the team's first five games. Also a factor on the basketball court, Gray transfers the athleticism and agility needed for success in that sport over to the football field. That's on display when watching his 2025 midseason highlights. Gray operates like a big receiver, taking advantage of leaping ability and long arms. There's plenty of physical projection left with a frame capable of adding mass and strength without losing the traits that give Gray a high overall ceiling.

Maehl does not look like a sophomore in either stature or style of play. We can witness that when watching highlights from his first three games of 2025. Lining up at left tackle as a 10th-grader, Maehl moves well and is agile, allowing him to operate effectively in space. He appears to understand angles and uses that knowledge to his advantage. Maehl sets up well in pass protection, with a balanced stance and smooth footwork. Projection remains for Maehl with a frame capable of adding good weight and strength. There's also skill work left before reaching his considerable potential.

Reis has performed well with his first varsity opportunity in 2025. Through the team's first five games, the junior caught five passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns with multiple mouths to feed in the passing game. Reis runs like a receiver, and long arms, speed and athleticism make him a difficult match for linebackers and defensive backs. He's patient in waiting to release when assignments begin with blocking. Speaking of which, he shows a willingness and ability to block. His frame can add a good amount of weight and strength without the loss of the athleticism that gives him a high ceiling.
